It's more addictive than crack. Seriously, it's ridiculous.

Dual professions? What do you mean exactly?

I don't think it's in the works either. I have a friend working at Blizzard and he hasn't mentioned anything about one.

Well, there really is no reason to have one... it's not like there's zero interest in the closed beta, if they need more testers, they'll just send out more invites...

Personally, I may just stay away from WoW because of the whole "not enough free time to get a good character" problem.

It is very time-consuming to level up. The one upshot of this is that it encourages people to quest in groups rather than soloing all the time. More fun and you get exp faster.

Yeah, but that's like all the other MMORPGs I've played.

With the plethora of high profile games coming out this year, WoW just doesnt have a place in my abode... even though I would indeed love to sink my time into it. Marriage cut gaming time by at least half.

I tried, she refused. She seems to have a pathological dislike of all games. :(

Same here. Opposites attract methinks! The only game she actually kind of likes is Mario Party. She'd rather watch soap operas.

My kid is 8 months old. The last thing I want to do is start poisoning her brain this early in life. :p

Checking on that.

No, you can't do that in WoW. You pick one class (although you may get some bonuses for your class depending on race), but you can have secondary skills that are actually pretty handy. For example, you can learn herbalism/alchemy and then imbue items with defensive or offensive bonuses. It takes time to level up in the secondary stuff, but it's pretty cool since you can make your own items (weapons, armor, potions, food, etc).

If they do have an open beta it will be months away. they are still working on alot of things.=, like character classes, the hunter class not out yet is hopfully coming out with the next push. They also are working on the talent system. right now the character lvl cap is 39 and that is going to be raised in the next push. The game is crack though.. sleep is suffering. must play..

I thought I read something once that Katricia said about an open beta (can't remember exactly what). Wouldn't they have to do it at least for load testing?

I thought WoW was only like 3 months away. Isn't it coming out this summer? (August or so?)

when all of you say crack.. do you mean everquest crack or real crack? i tried EQ once, and couldnt find my way out of town. least to say, i had no intention of purchasing the game (or paying a monthly fee, for that matter). if it were a standard buy + play game, i might buy it... but p2p, no way! you could buy so many more worthwhile games with 1 year's fee
