Well, whether it appears tedious to Brad doesn't necessarily mean it would stay tedious to him. First off, he's level 12, second, it doesn't sound like he has anyone in particular he is playing with. I can't really say, hey he's definitely seen it all. And while gameplay is similar throughout the levels, level 12 is nothing like level 70. Nor is level 12 content anything like level 70 content.

I think my first question is what were you really expecting. To not have to target things, to not have to press numbers? To be able to shoot at things with a mouse like an FPS? Having to type commands like a MUD?

Wat.

Are you taking the piss?

I've been playin solo, so that might be part of the problem.

I don't have a problem with targeting or pressing buttons, I meant that it's ALL there is.

Target, Press Spell A, Press Spell B, wait for creature to die. Repeat 10,000 times!

Once you've targeted something you can pretty much go and get a drink while the computer fights em for ya. Now that's what I call entertainment.

I used to play Diablo 1 and 2 for 12hrs straight. I though WOW would be even more addivtive. It aint.

You are in no position at all to judge the game yet. You don't even get an interesting skill until level 20 or 30.

I actually just quit playing after a long run. I'm level 70, fully epic geared and all that. It's a fun game but you haven't hit any fun parts yet.

Remember the first time you saw the catacombs in diablo 1? Remember the Caves? Yeah..well you aren't there yet. Keep playing.

I played EQ back in the day. I would play a good bit and had a few high level characters. My record was a 32 hour playstreak.

I tried WoW a while ago. It was extremely boring. Everything seemed to easy, and the visuals repulsed me. Everything seemed like an EQ clone except..less appealing. Not to mention the WoW community is horrendous.

I also tried EQ2. The visuals were weird, but still somehow enticing. They changed a lot of things from EQ however, seemingly more than WoW did . Still, the community just seemed dead, and that was a major drawback that I believe halted me from getting completely absorbed.
