So far I don't like the game. Way to boring.

Though the world sure is pretty but thats the only thing worth noting.

The action in this game kind of sucks.

Im a long term Diablo2 fan and WOWs action is just too slow.

When you fight a monster for example its pretty much attack, pause, attack, pause.

I mean you hit the monster once and the game will not let you hit it again immediately. I sit there smashing my mouse button and yelling "HIT HIM AGAIN! GEEZ! HIT HIM AGAIN!!! but NO. Pretty much you have to hit and run hit and run hit and run....very corny.

I was impressed by the graphics though.

Oh well. Won't be buying this game.

Who said we would be buying the game if we played WOW? hehe

I haven't even played the game for 2 days and already want to end the trial! lol

I've played every MMO and think this one is the best. Maybe it's because I'm older now and just don't have the time to deal with the same style of play provided buy the classic mmogs.

Huh, you only click ONCE and you'll beat it until either (a) it dies, (b) you die, (c) you run away. Maybe because you keep clicking (restarting attack) that you never get a chance to hit.

In EQ1, they haven't done a large scale wipe in years. The only wipe they did in the past year was when they merged servers, getting rid of all level 5 and under characters that hadn't logged in within the past few months.

That got rid of some people's bazaar mules though.

I played this a little yesterday. Kind of boring. Just go up to a monster and watch yourself attack it until it dies. No skill really. FPS games take a lot more skill.

Still, I can see how it might be addictive. I only played until I reached level 3.

I would say EQ2 requires a bit more skill with managing your power reserves, and performing Heroic Opportunities.

dammn fileplanet download doesn't work w/ FireFox... working in IE. Why won't they just say that Firefox isn't supported instead of forcing u to buy a subscription?

Patience, grasshopper.

You have to hit at least level 10 before the game requires any skill at all. Prior to that, like you described, you have a limited skill set and it's not nearly as fun.

Around level 20 is when you start getting a lot of new skills, and the game is based upon strategy rather than waiting for something to die. You learn what spells to use when, mana effiecency, etc...

Also, the amount of fun you're having depends largly on your class. I wouldn't reccomend a warlock or a druid to a beginning player, as they are pretty hard classes to play in comparision to all the rest. A warrior or rogue would probably be the best beginning class because they are easy to learn, and they require no mana.

Just give it time. I played WoW in the beta stage for about a week, and pretty much gave up. I just convinced myself that it was too hard to level up. It took me like a week to get to level 6 (because I had no idea where to go or what to do). In turn, I didn't buy it at release. However, quite a few of my friends started playing, so I picked it up to give it a second chance in January. I really haven't stopped playing since. ;)

Now though, I can do 1-12 in a day easily, and have played almost every class in the game passed 30. You just have to give it time.

I guess I will give my take on this game since I have quite a bit of experience with it as well as other MMOs. It is better than any MMO ive played other than old school EQ (pre-PoP). If it was harder it would probably even surpass EQ for me. As for EQ2 requiring more skill....all I can say is no. Both games are equally easy. I played a Dirge in EQ2 to lvl 50 shortly after release and was very disappointed at how easy it was. The only real difference is you might have to be sociable in EQ2 to get a group where you can solo your way to max lvl in WoW. If you are looking for something hard but still somewhat new you might try FFXI. The lvling treadmill in that game reminded me of EQ. I have heard they addressed some of the issues NA players were having with the game but I don't know how true that is.

Q10637 - FAQ: Are there special Trial servers or am I playing with regular World of Warcraft players?

There are no special servers. Your experience during the trial is on the same servers as standard players with a few minor restrictions.

The few minor restrictions are you can only get up to lvl 20, no trading with players and no auctions, and something minor about chat, but you can still chat to ppl locally and within a party.

What are the few minor restrictions please?

Does lvl 20 = level 20 ?

How high is that and can anyone get up that high within 10 days or less?

Easily I got there in two days and my friends can do it in less than one.

So when the trial runs out, what happens? Is there any way to pay a reduced fee to just keep playing the game without having to buy a retail copy? Because that would be awesome.

I mean, could I just pay for 30 days after my 10 days and be done with it?

Nope, sorry but you are REQUIRED to buy the full retail version before you can continue playing after the 10 days. Just a fact of life. Also the game time starts counting down once you set up your accout. So don't set your account up until you are ready to start playing. ;)

I am disappointed. The graphics are "cartoonish", the voice overs= silly. I can't believe it is so popular. I at least expected it to look good.

Works fine in FireFox. Their Download Manager (which previously didn't support Firefox) supports FF.

What are you talking about WoW has some of the best graphics of any MMORPG. You obviously haven't played other online role playing games. Try something like Dark age of Camolet and you will laugh at how bad the graphics are (and gameplay) compared to WoW.
