Can anyone confirm any love for Mac OS X users?

(read: is there a Mac OS X trial available?)

The download or trial version inside Maxim magazine (Dec. issue with Cindy Crawford on cover) works for both PC and Mac OS X.

I can confirm this. Although I'm currently playing the trial on my PC, when I downloaded it, it did indeed include an installer for Mac OS X (which is where I'll be playing it when I actually buy it).

Blizzard's always been cool like that ;) (they never forget their Mac fans). :D

The WOW disc demo disc is in this month's (Dec.) Maxim magazine. Save yerself the headache of a DL. Includes trial key. Just came in the mail as I started my DL.

AND it's the 14 day trial, not just 10.

What page is it on?
I looked through every page, looks like it dropped out or got ripped off, lol.

It comes as a insert between pages 48 and 49. If it's not there, you got jacked.

looks like i got jacked :|

By the way, I know I won't be billed, but when I enter my credit card # to create an account, will World of Warcaft show up on my credit card bill as $0.00 or something...?

...or will it not show up at all?

credit card is just to create account. Nothing should show up on you CC statement. It's used so they can bill you if you decide to buy a copy later and continue playing... which leads to my question:

If I buy a copy to continue playing after the 10 day trial will I still be able to use the free 30 day pass included in the box?

To install the trial DVD, do you have to input anything? Or can I just install it and then log on to someone else's account?

Follow up question to this:

If you buy a copy and subscribe before the 10 days end, do you still get the full 10 days free or do the 30 free days start immediately?

Damn. Should have never looked at this thread. WoW has claimed at least 6 hours per day so far since last Tuesday. You people were right, this game is addicting.

it's $24.99 this Friday at BestBuy.

or $19.99 from anywhere if you can get a friend who is already a subscriber to tell you his username (look here: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/misc/wowdeal/)

Could I just buy it now then pricematch on Friday?

i don't think BB does pricematch on Black Friday.

I'ts been a few days since I first signed up and I have a flaky memory, but I really doubt you need to buy a retail copy. During my signup process, they even asked what payment plan I would like to be on if I decide to renew after the trial expires. It'll be about 5 days until my trial expires and I will know for sure...

yes you do. the trial serial number that you have is only valid for the time of the trial. after that you couldn't login to your account and would have to provide a retail serial number. the only way you could get a retail serial number is if you buy a retail copy.

go to your 'account management' page at the WoW website (but don't go now, it's currently broken. lol) and it will show you at the bottom of the page that you would need to provide a retail serial number to continue playing the game.

Should we get a list together to take advantage of that "refer a friend" coupon? That could save a few of us some $$$.

Just a thought.

Oh, and...

I can confirm that you need to purchase the retail copy. I, too, was hoping that it would be possible to simply keep paying the sub fee, but when my trial expired, it gave no choice other than entering a retail product serial key. So...yeah. :(

Oh, well...at least it can be had for $30 (or less) now.

edit: druid, it's 2:40a.m. so i'm finally going to bed too. (hooked, but still not paying a monthly service to play a game)

I can't seem to unzip this file. It keeps saying "Either multipart or corrupt ZIP archive." I've downloaded this file from fileplanet three times already and it has said the same each time. The file size I have for WoW file is 2.81gb. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!
