Workout shelf?

I have a small apartment and I'm wondering.... does anyone have any good experience with a workout shelf of sorts? I used to have a bookshelf to store everything, but got rid of it. I'm left with an empty space to store my weights, perfect pushup gear, etc. Wondering if there's a solution or if I should just buy some small, stackable shelves.

Currently, I utilize a cheap Target shelf with stiff cloth cubby inserts to put my exercise bands, heat pack, heart rate monitor, perfect push-up, some weights, etc. I think it's probably cheaper to build some small shelves, but they won't look nearly as good (unless you're pretty handy).

I am also using shelf's build in to keep my things.If not bought an external shelf to keep all these.
