Working UNDER your car. (aka, do you really trust your jack stands?)

You know that thing that comes with your car along with spare tire? Yeah, I use that too jack up a side of the car, and I go to work.

That thing in the trunk is often referred to as a widow maker. Read the owner's manual and you'll know why. That aside - more and more cars no longer come with a jack OR a spare tire.

baked if your at home at least but some blocks under the car before you apply later stress on a car car jack. As new guy Lexusls-and welcome new guy-its not really safe to use your car jack to change a tire safely. Use it to get the car off the ground and put some crates or HF jack stands. Your life or limbs isnt worth saving 60 bucks on some stands.

Factory jacks vary widely in cheapness. The true 'widowmakers' are the VW scissor jacks where they omitted half of the 'scissor.' Not even fit for an emergency tire change.

The 'jack point' thing isn't especially novel. By 'jack point,' they appear to just mean 'pinch weld.'

But the ability to put their pad on your jack, lift, then slide the stand around the jack and engage the pad is unique.

It looks like you could stack them for storage too so they would take up less garage space than regular jack stands.

Kind of a cool design if you ask me.

if I ever build a house i'm going to make a garage with a pit/stairs between the wheels.

I like it too. I wish it was more height adjustable though. What if I'm a fat bastard and need the car up higher?
