You can't be reading that book and reading AT at the same time. Pick one (reading AT or the book for your JOB that's giving you a PAYCHECK) and do it.

Now.

;) :p

Most of the people here that nef all day long do it while at work... don't give him such a hard time :p

that's a decent wage for an intern, stop complaining!

Is the code well-commented?

its relatively well commented.
imo fortrann is an UGLY language...

Well, FORTRAN was the first, so it was quite a learning experience.

Are there any regression tests you can use to verify that your Ada program does what their FORTRAN program did? If there aren't, start writing them as you first job, as translation is never as straightforward as you think and you will add bugs (and possibly remove bugs that the code depends on.)

If you have good tests, you may find it easier to write to them as a specification than to attempt to directly translate the code.

You might also look for programs that will do the translation for you. There are FORTRAN to C compilers out there, but I don't know about FORTRAN to Ada.

yeah well programming blows, what can I say.

Demand and compensation are there, but the fun factor is not.

Speak for yourself :D The best developers in the world are also those who enjoy what they do, and they're compensated very highly for it.

Not all programming is of the type this guy posted about.

You can work on your own stuff too, you know.
