Words cannot express how I feel...

I'm confused. If you can't figure out how to get the whiskey out of the bottle then maybe you shouldn't be drinking. If you can get the whiskey out of the bottle then what's the problem? Either way, alcohol is bad for you and you shouldn't drink.

I thought you meant that the cork fell into the whiskey and was floating around rotting in there, get a corkscrew and a backup cork for storage 🙂

You do what I did in that situation -- Get out the drill.

Still got the receipt, so I intend to take it back and get a replacement bottle...

Otherwise, I would

I should have pre-emptively noted that the neck isn't a standard wine-bottle cork size, so I don't have anything handy to stopper it 😱

On your next bottle, try turning it upside down for awhile before you open it. Also, use a very light back and forth twisting motion to break the seal before you try to completely remove the cork.

Cheers, I will make sure I do that with the next one

I suspect this one had been sitting for quite a while.

I'd be more concerned about the broken cap as to the quality of the whiskey than anything else.

You should NEVER open a bottle of whiskey, consume a portion of it, then re-cap it. The stuff goes bad overnight when you do that.

You're SUPPOSED to open the bottle, throw away the cap, consume the entire bottle in one sitting...fall down.😀

I lived with that philosophy for many years...and I went through a fifth of Crown Royal every night...without fail.

What the hell whiskey is that? Popular down in Australia, I imagine? It makes sense, upon reflection, that Australia would have their own style of whiskey, but I never seen or heard of it before.

I haven't tried it yet 🙁

Reviews are a mixed bag online, but I figured it was worth a try.

It's not a problem if you can't find a backup cork. Just make sure you drink it all in the same sitting, then you don't have to worry about how you'll close it. 😉
