Some of you will take one look at this drive, see that it offers 80GB of space for $85, and conclude that we?re trying to rip you off. That?s fine. Run along, now. This Western Digital Raptor SATA Hard Drive isn?t for you. Come back later, when we?re selling a remote-control car or something.
OK, now that those losers are gone, you?re in for a treat: Western Digital originally intended these 10,000 RPM Raptor enterprise-class hard drives for use in servers and whatnot. But techy civilians got ahold of them, and word quickly spread about their superior speed and performance. Their 8 MB buffer is a nifty complement to the aforementioned spindle whipping around at a blinding 10,000RPM. You might not be overly impressed with the 80GB storage space, but it?s the perfect boot drive to go with your bigger storage drive ? a work-in-front, party-in-back setup we call ?the mullet system.?
Since there are so many shortsighted chumps out there who only think in terms of cents-per-GB, a savvy type like you can scoop up this Western Digital Raptor 80GB SATA Hard Drive at a price that?ll make your head spin. but not at 10,000 RPM, unless you happen to have an enterprise-class head.

What? There is no 80gb 10,000 rpm Raptor. There is a 74gb, but no 80gb...
Either way, pretty good deal!!
