Considering the 512MB version is not listed on their site, I think you might have just stepped up to a 256 KO edition.

NO I just found out that im still within the 90 days so I can get the 512 version
 
It isn't clear if you're going for 2x512MB GTX's or 1. For your sake, I hope two.

In my opinion (and I don't think I'm too far off here), 2x256MB GTX > 1x512MB GTX

Either way its a sh!t load of money. Any idea how much eVGA's MSRP is gonna be on the 512MB GTX? At least $599? I hope you paid full retail for those GTX KO's!
 
He's going to have to step-up one 256MB GTX for one 512MB GTX. They won't let you combine two cards into one. Not a bad deal though, depending on how much was paid for the original GTX'es. I paid almost nothing to go from regular GTX'es to the KO's via step-up, but I had originally paid a lot more than the GTX'es are going for now so the difference in price wasn't that great.
 
So if I payed $344 for my evga 7800 gt co (which I did) and want to step up to the evga gtx priced evga I would have to pay $205 difference. The evga 7800 gt oc is priced at $469 on their website. By me buying it at ZZF for $344 + free COD2 I saved $125. If I step up I lose what I saved and end up with a very similiar price to the gt co on the evga website. Not a logical choice. For this stepup program to work the MSRP has to take a dive....I'm not a proponent of sli but I would rather take that $205 and add $139 and get another gt co. Hopefully the 512 card will make an impact on the gtx but I doubt it, it is going to be sold in limited quanitites. Anyway, I can't go over 19 x 11 resolution so I will enjoy what I have for a while.

Oh yea, I think everyone with an evga board has an additonal $25 evga bucks that can be applied to a purchase from their website....minimual but there.
 
yeah, I never understood this program. Don't you have to buy directly from them? Aren't all of the cards at retail?

Yeah, but they also give you all of the original purchase price back to use towards the upgrade which should be more than you could get selling the card used. So basically you have to figure out if it makes more sense to sell your card privately and buy the upgrade at a discount store or use the Step-Up program and buy the new card at retail. People here on the FS/FT are pretty cheap (myself included) so the difference may be closer than you think.
 
I think its what you bought it at, not what its at retail on evga site. Say if you bought it a zzf for $344 the difference would be $306 if the msrp on the
512 is $650.
 
I'm just waiting for them to drop the MSRP for the normal 7800GTX from $549.99 to nVidia's recommended MSRP of $499.99. That way, I only need to pay $30 instead of $80 for a step-up from my 7800GT...
I got it w/ the mobo and BF2 back when if first came out at $469.99. The prices have dropped so sharply in the past 10 weeks that I prob should just trade it in for the 7800GTX to make up a little for the massive deprecation...

Deadline is 11/29/2005... should I bite?
 
Well, Maybe this is good? MSRP is 650 for 512 MB card, and they are going for 700+ right now, so your getting a good deal if you do steup up right now 🙂
