Woot.com - Pullup bar for your door, $15

lol they make those long promotional programmes in the television about this stuff.

You buy it, you use it, you lose motivation and destroy the door frame.

I got the better one for $25 a while back then found out I don't have that slit on my doorway and can't set the damn thing up 🙁

You shouldn't even really need that part. As long as there is proper tension on the bar it's not going to slip off the top of the frame because it pushes back towards the wall. These bars are worth the investment if you're looking to work out at home.

So, is this a good pull-up bar, or should I look for a deal on the extreme version (or a completely different product) instead? Are the ab straps worth it?

I'll probably eventually put a pull-up bar in my basement, but I work out upstairs now, and this would be really convenient for me.

Either is fine though over time the foam grips will degrade though that will probably happen no matter which ones you get.

I have the same one, but I don't use that little thing.

Like I said, I live in an apartment, the door frame is just different. I've tried it without and it just doesn't work.

you can actually wedge that metal thingy in between the wall and the trim. i did it with a little pounding with a small hammer. i can post a pic when i get home

Awesome deal for a pullup bar! Too bad I already have the one that's mounted between the walls of my hallway and the perfect pullup... lol

You do that, mine has no trim at all, it's completely painted over[not a wooden door frame]

ok. having no trim is different from door frame sticking out 3-5mm tops. sorry we couldn't help.

Really hard to describe it or I'm just doing it wrong but it's not your typical wooden door frame that's protruding an inch or 2 out of the wall with a trim where the frame meets the wall. Mine is a metal frame, it protrudes out 3-5mm and is entirely painted over[frame is same color as the wall] such that you wouldn't be able to tell there's a frame if not for the 3mm bulge that sticks out but no slit. Doesn't matter though, I figured out a different way to set it up but it's not as ideal as actually hanging up on the doorway.
