SO, out of the blue I decided to buy a connect3d X1900XT. What persuaded me was the fact that COD2 would get some serious lag when running the 2005fpw powered by the GTX with all eye candy on. COD 2 wasn't the only game overwhelming the GTX, FEAR would force me to use trilinear filtering because there would often be times when I felt the chugging. I'm sure I could have changed a different setting down but I found this one to be optimal. And this is without AA. Let me just say with the x1900 XT, Gaming has never been better. I can use all the max setting plus 4x AA and still be smoother than the GTX. ANd dont listen to anybody about the noise level becuase it's only loud at start up. After all the talk about Nvidia cards have lesser image quality, I agree. FarCry in particular with AF and just overall Look is far superior on the x1900XT. This was definately a worthy upgrade for those with higher resolution monitors and really get their rocks off with image quality

*** edit for the first two guys, I got a phone call, panicked and pressed the go buttton too early

Nice. Let us know how the two perform against each other (in your opinion).

COD was one of the reasons I upgraded as well, to play online I had to run with no AA to get barely playable framerates at 1680x1050 with my X800XL, now it's everything on at all times, oh joy!

Oh no! LOL. No AA?

Just kidding. But it's amazing how the video market has changed over the years.
I finally decided to take on eVGAs offering for the free SLI mobo with a 7800GT. Mostly just to have PCI-E let alone the power of a 7800GT.

Happy B-Day atybimf!
