i'll try finding more songs today... maybe if i find better songs to play i'll like it better... as far as stairway to heaven goes (as suggested by a couple people earlier).... i've played it on the acousutic a lot (sans the solo)... and ther solo seems hard as hell... maybe i'll try to work up to that...
The solo is actually based on the minor blues pentatonic scale. The solo progression is in A, G, and F, so you can use this pattern:

The root notes are in red. Start on those notes during the changes, and you'll be suprised how good you sound

Also, don't focus too much on getting the solo note for note. You don't want to be a parrot. Jimmy Page can't even play the same solo twice. If you learn a few familiar phrases in the solo, you can use those and then make up your own stuff in between.
