I think the Geneva Convention now states that new guitarists aren't allowed to play Stairway to Heaven anymore.

I learned the live version some time ago. I'll have to brush up and post it later

The solo is actually based on the minor blues pentatonic scale. The solo progression is in A, G, and F, so you can use this pattern:

The root notes are in red. Start on those notes during the changes, and you'll be suprised how good you sound Also, don't focus too much on getting the solo note for note. You don't want to be a parrot. Jimmy Page can't even play the same solo twice. If you learn a few familiar phrases in the solo, you can use those and then make up your own stuff in between.
