as many of you know i am having regrets buying this electric :( :( poor me lol

this is my guitar (ibanez)

this is my amp (behringer)

maybe once i actually play a song that sounds good playing solo guitar... I'll like it more.
I enjoy being able to replicate songs well... maybe i just dont have enuf electric experience... cuz i can easily make a song sound "whole" with my acoustic..

Recommend me something that actually has good tabs available for the song :)

I'm tired (at the moment) of playing jack johnson john mayer oasis dust in the wind feeble attempts at tears in heaven.... etc etc etc

so what are some awesome songs to learn on the electric?

woooOO!!!! Ibanez!!! and a 30watt amp!!! I'm gonna ROCK@!!!

Smoke on the Water, Come as You Are, Iron Man, Sunshine of Your Love all are very easy fun songs to learn.

Opeth - Master's Apprentices. Pretty easy (the first riff anyway) and one of the heaviest, most kickass songs ever.
Metallica - For Whom the Bell Tolls. Another fairly easy one, sounds sweet, a lot of people know it.
Green Day - Brain Stew. Ridiculouly easy and sounds pretty cool.
And everything Zooyaka suggested.

Oh come on! You can't decide that after one day! You're used to strumming. An electric takes a different type of attack. PM me and I'll give you some tips.

The sole purpose of buying an electric guitar is stairway to heaven.

OP, why don't you get Guitar Pro 5 and dl guitar pro tabs?

i enjoy being able to play a whole song on my guitar... with an electric you almost NEED to have drums and/or bass to back you up for the song to sound whole... on the acoustic there is a plethora of songs you can play solo and you don't need backup at all....

i'll keep it for a few more days (30 day return policy)... but its not lookin good...

What amp did you get? If you started on acoustic, you need something versatile, like a Roland Cube or a Vox ADVT (both of which come in a 30-watt model). A standard 30w practice amp with a muddy clean channel and crappy distortion is not going to work for someone whos been playing for 2 years.

Both have very good digital EFX (reverb, delay, chorus, etc.), and the Cubes even have a surprisingly good acoustic simulator, along with 8-9 other amp models that in combination with your pickup switch and amp EQ give you a full range of tones that cover just about every type of music. Throw in a footswitch, and you can play any song all the way through without stopping to fiddle with knobs and buttons.

Trust me, once you rip through a song like Pink Floyd's "Mother", footswitching EFX and channels (from sparkling acoustic to high-gain lead solo and back again), you'll find yourself loving it.

Yeah don't give up on it bro.. it all depends on the gear you have and it takes a different playing style to make it sound good.. you can do a lot more with an electric.

In the clips I recorded above, I used a Roland Microcube. It's my favorite amp for playing around in the basement :) 30 watts is a bit overkill for practicing...your neighbors aren't going to like you very much if you keep turning up that much power all the time.

Thats a nice axe. Don't give up.
Hell.. i've only had my new guitar since March, and I still can't play $hit! Of course I don't have two years experience, so I'm not coming from much..

i guess i'll keep it at least until i've had it for 25 days... then i can return it at the last minute if need be...

i'll try finding more songs today... maybe if i find better songs to play i'll like it better... as far as stairway to heaven goes (as suggested by a couple people earlier).... i've played it on the acousutic a lot (sans the solo)... and ther solo seems hard as hell... maybe i'll try to work up to that...

For those hard to play parts, I find that using tab software such as Guitar Pro helps out.
Load the tab up.. select the part you have difficulty with, and click a button to slow it down.. you can then hear what it sounds like at a slower tempo.. then gradually speed it up after you can play it yourself, at the slow speed..
