Well the op is some asian nerd dude with bed bugs but my initial idea was to make him feel like the other. He already is the other and just hates himself by siding with racists.

I thought it was (a) a sarky conservative doing that really tiresome weak-satire thing they so often do or (b) a liberal being tongue-in-cheek, with a very remote chance it was (c) someone actually being serious. Didn't think of (d) an attempt to provoke empathy through mirroring, though now I see it.

Either way, I thought the reaction of other posters was a bit snowflake-like. I mean, I do remember getting quite upset at that sort of talk when I was about 13, when reading about the the likes of the Nation of Islam or Valerie Solanas, but I've grown up a bit since then and that stuff only merits a shrug.

Besides, I'm only partly-white, so I'd be let out of the ghetto on a part-time basis, right?

Trouble is, the OP, though he talks complete and utter crap, sounds like he has 'issues' of some sort, so having a go at him seems like mocking the afflicted.

Remember how Osama was buried at sea so that there wouldn't be a shrine for his followers to gather at? Similarly we shouldn't have a gathering point for white supremacists in public places. They need to know that their ideas aren't supported by the public or elected officials.

Who should pay the costs for removing these statues? Local tax payers? Should cities spend money on this instead of schools, road repairs, infrastructure upgrades, etc?

I see all the people who are calling for removal and destruction of the so call statue. I personally think it is stupid and idiotic thing to ask for. Statues are just... statues. Art if you will. They are part of the United States histories; removing the statues will not erase the hate. In fact, the forced removal will give give the so call white supremacist even more ammo.

Keep in mind the whole thing happen because of the initial removal of the statues. Hate cannot be and will not be erased just because of the statues removal.

Good article.

I can't believe that Trump hasn't already issued an executive order calling for all Confederate statues to be removed and replaced by statues of Donald Trump. All said statues of Trump will be required to be twice life size and the hands shall be Yhuge!

wow, yea, that money could be spent... hahahahahahaha... I can't continue.
Offer up a lottery to take down the statues, I'm guessing it would actually bring money in, rather than be an expenditure.
Here are all the folks who brought down 1 statue, think we could get them to take a few more down? $5.00 per ticket, 20 winners, all funds go to the NAACP or similar.

Those who are committed to the death to an invisible man in the sky like ISIS and Al Qaeda won't be hindered in any way by the elimination of past, present or future shrines,

hope that Nazi's, KKK and White Nationalists don't become true believers to the death like their religious right counterparts in the middle east that their hero Hitler admired so much.

Hitler's views on Islam
In speeches, Hitler made apparently warm references towards Muslim culture such as: "The peoples of Islam will always be closer to us than, for example, France".[1]

A famous anecdote about Adolf Hitler's perspectives towards Islam and the Arabs is recounted by Albert Speer in his best-selling memoir, Inside the Third Reich. Speer reports that "Hitler had been much impressed by a scrap of history he had learned from a delegation of distinguished Arabs."[2] The delegation had speculated that the world would have become "Mohammedan" if the Berbers and Arabs had won the Battle of Tours in the 8th Century AD, and that the Germans would have become heirs to "a religion that believed in spreading the faith by the sword and in subjugating all nations to that faith. Such a creed was perfectly suited to the German temperament."[3] Speer then presents Hitler's claims on this subject:

Hitler said that the conquering Arabs, because of their racial inferiority, would in the long run have been unable to contend with the harsher climate of the country. They could not have kept down the more vigorous natives, so that ultimately not Arabs but Islamized Germans could have stood at the head of this Mohammedan Empire.[4]

Similarly, Hitler was transcribed as saying: "Had Charles Martel not been victorious at Poitiers [...] then we should in all probability have been converted to Mohammedanism, that cult which glorifies the heroism and which opens up the seventh Heaven to the bold warrior alone. Then the Germanic races would have conquered the world."[5]

According to Speer, Hitler stated in private, "The Mohammedan religion too would have been much more compatible to us than Christianity. Why did it have to be Christianity with its meekness and flabbiness?"[6]

So the hands will be 15x actual size to appear in scale with the rest of the statue?

So what? Muslims are responsible for 94% of the terror attacks in the world, should we blame them as a group?

Why stoop to the level of the Nazis? What possible good are you expecting to come from this?

This guy sure loves to parrot roflmouth and conservative media about them muslims terrorists.

But we have to agree this mess started when they choose to move the statues right? You are right that the city have the right to remove or destroy it since it was in a vote.
No, this started when they put the statues up as visible power symbols in the era of Joe Crow laws

If blowing up statues was good enough for the Taliban, it is certainly good enough for the lefties. Can't let the alt-right corner the market on mimicking ISIS.

It''s only a statue. Why in hell would anybody care if it were destroyed. Just blow those suckers up. They take up valuable space.

Considering the conservative right has much more in common with Muslim extremists, basically the other side of the same coin, I take your comment as a tongue-in-cheek statement.

Here they did both. Doesn't seem to be an all or nothing proposition.

I wouldn't know. Pretty sure I am the master of my universe...well at least when Mrs. Corn isn't around.

Well it certainly seemed like you wanted to show that the alt-left is victimizing white people in the same fashion isis is victimizing people in the middle east.

No, it won't make the problem worse... there'll be some wailing and gnashing of teeth from racists and people who just don't know better, but that will die down.

I look at it this way: let's say you're black. Every day you have to pass a statue that's not only historically false (misrepresenting the cause of the war, omitting tragedies), but in many cases was deliberately put up to intimidate the black community. How are you going to see that statue? Will you see it as an important part of Southern culture that's worth keeping? Er, no. That statue stands only as a perpetual "screw you" to black people. Getting rid of it makes clear that black people are actually welcome in the South, and not just tolerated.

Really? Mass-produced items of race-war propaganda kitsch produced within our parents lifetimes are the equivalent of nearly 2000 year-old religious relics? Clearly you aim to corner the market on piss-poor arguments.

Trumpsters know why these statues were put up, that's why they feel compelled to defend them with nazi/klan rallies.
