Today's showcase showdown. Woman bids $89,500 on a showcase that included a yellow Dodge Viper. Actual price of the prize turned out to be $89,737 so she ended up winning both showcases and also picked up a Saturn Sky that was the main prize of the other showcase. Turns out it is the biggest win in daytinme TPIR history at over $147,000. WOW!
 
Yeah, I just seen that. I had to laugh when that lady said her bid. I thought she was way over. Guess that's why she's there, and I'm here.

heh.. good luck paying california state tax on all those items before she is allowed to take possesion of any of it..

Isn't it just a gift tax that you pay during tax season? I won $5000 worth of stuff and didn't pay a dime until I filed my taxes.
 
In other news old lady file bankruptcy after failing to pay taxes on over $100k in prize money on game show.

I dont beleive it is... in the past people have had to pay for the tax on these items...
its different when you win on a gameshow.. people have to pay the government right away on large monitary wins as well as items..
