The showcase was probably a Viper and a lovely dinette set.

It was a crappy arcade game, a sound system, and the Viper.

I'd sell the Viper and keep the Sky ;)

As much as I think the Viper is a sweet car, I think I'd do the same.

The cost of gas on those things must be ridiculous.

according to dodge the viper gets 20hwy 12 city

A V10 8 liter engine gets that good of gas milage?

Yep, when I saw the first couple of items I was thinking to myself that she had one of those really crappy showcases that no one would want to win and have to pay taxes on, and then out pops the Viper. Daaammmmnnn!

The other showcase included a trip to NYC and the Saturn, possibly something else.

I'd sell the Viper and Sky and buy a 4-cyl Honda Accord. I should break even after the Kalifornia tax.

I'd sell both and get a Lexus LS 430 since it is the finest automobile currently available.

If you sold both, you might as well just buy a house :D

Props on the Lexus reference Kaido!

Where could you get a house for $150k? Tennessee?

Today's showcase showdown. Woman bids $89,500 on a showcase that included a yellow Dodge Viper. Actual price of the prize turned out to be $89,737 so she ended up winning both showcases and also picked up a Saturn Sky that was the main prize of the other showcase. Turns out it is the biggest win in daytinme TPIR history at over $147,000. WOW!

heh.. good luck paying california state tax on all those items before she is allowed to take possesion of any of it..

I'd sell everything to pay taxes. The rest is pure profit!!! WOOOO

You've been stuck in the overpriced East coast area for too long. $150K is enough to buy at least a decent house in lots of places in the US.

You must live on the east or west coast.
In Dallas a $150,000 can get you a nice house, not huge but nice, and in a nice neighborhood.

Actually, you're right. Real estate in Texas is cheap. But Im still skeptical as to what the communities are like.

From an engineering standpoint, a perfectly designed engine will get exactly the same mileage regardless of peak power output, since you're only using a fraction of that power for regular commuting. There's a set amount of gas that absolutely HAS to be burned to keep a car moving against a certain wind+rolling resistance, the rest of it is just wasted by the inefficiencies of a large engine with a nearly closed throttle.

Besides, big rigs don't get THAT terrible mileage, and they're hauling hundreds of times what most cars do. Efficiencies of scale and all.

You fools, Bob will NEVER die. The guy's a fvcking robot.

You can't buy a house in Cali even if you sold both cars. This ain't Mississippi.
