It's tough to deal with that problem. There are so many pedos around.

I was at a group picnic three weeks ago at a county park, about 150 people. Lots of kids playing. About 5 PM, one of my friends comes up to me and tells me to keep an eye on some guy walking along the lakeshore near the playground. My friend, an ex-cop, recognized him as a convicted pedophile.

What I would have liked to do is beat the guy to a pulp just for being around kids intentionally. What we ended up doing is making all the kids quit playing and come back to the shelter. After about five minutes, the pedo noticed some of us adults were obviously staring at him and he wandered off to another area of the park. Would anything have happened? I don't know for sure, but I'm sure glad my friend recognized the guy.

i agree there is a lot of pedophiles. but are laws such as this one really going to work? Is letting this women go going to hurt the law? What if someone actually challenges the law?

Not every adult who is in the park without a child is a perv. I enjoy walking and sitting in parks with or without my daughter. This law would cause me to get a ticket and posiibly spend time in jail. There has to be better ways then to refuse someone the right to use the park.

What you fail to realize is that the purpose of the bench is to generate revenue from ticketing adults who didn't see the sign. That is the only realistic result of the posted policy. Besides, plenty of pedos just molest their own kids, nothing to stop them from doing that.

Missing a few things... cannot be in that park without kids. She was on a bench, but really got the ticket for being in there. You also missed that police are not a jury. They just enforce the law. The courts determine if it was right or wrong (or the law needs to be changed.) If it is 'dumb,' that is for a judge or jury to decide.

I can't see it actually stoping them. Not to mention it hurts more then it could help. It is not allowing people who just want to walk around the park.

If challenged im sure the law would be changed. it just seems like a stupid law.
