Sadly what she did was probably illegal. it's ok for the government or high ranked people or companies to record others, but it's usually not ok for civilians to do it. Laws differ between places though.

that definitely is unprofessional of them. Even the way the doctor spoke to her in person, it's not a way to talk to someone.

But overall she won't get much by trying to blow this out of proportion.

It does suck to have to wait so long for surgery, but sadly it's just the way things work. She's lucky it was only 2 months, some people wait even longer for some procedures.

Worse is when you don't even know what's wrong because you keep having to go see different specialists or go for different tests and it's all months apart.

I suspect this is standard in the OR. You're spending a lengthy time working on a Patient and you have to talk about something. She made herself a notable topic for a conversation. Oops.

I don't see a malpractice suit coming out of this. Should people shit talk others behind their back? No I guess not, but it's not illegal. Just immoral.

Yeah I don't really think they should get in any real trouble for this. They should be more professional and maybe get a little slap on the wrist but nothing more. Nobody really got harmed.

considering she taped these people without consent, i have doubts that her story about what happened prior is even accurate.

She needs to be fat, intelligence and self entitlement shamed.

This better not lead to a lawsuit against the doctors or hospital.

I love the quote about Precious meet Precious, "As if I am a fat, black woman."
Check and check.

If you are a big enough ass to a group of people, they are going to talk about you when you leave. Seems she made a point of being a drama queen to the doctors, so naturally assumed they'd talk about her. Plant microphone, try to cash in. Actually a pretty good scam on her part if it works.
Go into business, be a total jerk, plant microphone, catch employees talking crap on me after I leave, release tape, profit!

Instead of being a whiny bitch about it, I would have linked the video to all the google review pages for the doctor and been like "This is the level of professionalism you can expect at XYZ".

Except wiretapping laws.

Also I'm not sure how a hernia is a "terminal-illness"?

Not terminal, but it can be painful as hell and very crippling.

I had a left inguinal hernia and it was hell waiting for surgery. I had a softball sized chunk of my intestines coming out through a hole in my lower abdominal wall near my groin. If I didn't keep the intestines held in (physically, by holding my groin), they'd eventually end up trying to push into my nutsack.

Let's secretly record this woman and her equal-justice activist friend 24/7 and see what mean things they say behind someone's back.

Can't wait until someone invents a mind reading device and we can call people out for thinking things like this. Because that's what this claim basically amounts to, thought crime. They keep talking about how this reflects badly on the standard of care she was given but it really has nothing whatsoever to do with it.

And this claim that she was doing it so people would know what happened if she died on the operating table.. I don't believe it for a minute. She was almost certainly doing it with the hopes that they'd say things like they said and she could get sympathy and possibly a lawsuit, maybe a termination.
This times a hundred.

That being said, they were acting/talking unprofessionally. But it wasn't something so horrible that it's worth a lawsuit or something like that.

People talk about other people, it's in our nature and EVERYONE does it. In fact it is safe to assume that when this woman got home she complained to her husband about this doctor telling her she had to wait 2 months for her surgery and that they are all incompetent, etc. etc. etc.

In a letter sent to Easter Harris Health System states we have used this opportunity to remind the OR staff and physicians to be mindful of their comments at all times.

Nah...

Always conduct yourself as if you are in the presence of a noble guest.

If you do so, you can't be embarrassed in this fashion.

Body shaming is such an absurd term. What happened to just calling people fat or critiquing without them making a public spectacle out of it?

If anything, this whole 'movement' is enabling disgusting fat bodies to maintain their shit lifestyle rather than improving themselves. See: Dad bod, obese models, and so on.

What? Dude, it's perfectly fine to be morbidly obese and have diabetes.

Perfectly fine. Who are you to judge? Don't you care about people's fee fees?

Except body shaming doesn't only cover 'fat', but a whole host of others.

And according to the original meaning, a person with 'dad bod' is still pretty damn fit and healthy, just without a six pack abs.

Regardless of it being fat, cross-eyed, whatever -- who cares? Just deal with it.

Seth Rogan was the poster child for Dad Bod -- that is not a healthy looking man.

Are you sure a case couldn't be made that she consented by putting the recording device in her hair and turning it on?

Flight attendants talk about passengers, tech support people talk about users, pretty much anyone in a service type job talks about the people they server and doctors and nurses are no different than any people when it comes to this. All she did was a different version of the Jerry Lewis tape recorder in a briefcase routine.

The original body positive movement was to promote the idea you could be healthy and attractive without having the body of a fitness model or being rail thin. It was high jacked by far people though.
