I think you know the answer. Of COURSE that was a hate crime. Those boys probably would not have beaten a white boy for makin out with their sister. I don't see how this example supports your point.Originally posted by: Specop 007

My POINT is this.
If a black guy drags a white guy down the road and kills him he'll get murder 1 or some other charge.
If a white guy drags a black guy down the road and kills him he gets murder 1 AND charged with a hate crime.
Do you get the point now?
I think everyone would be outraged if the scenario you presented were true. I don't think that the justice system blindly labels crimes as hate crimes based simply on the color of the perp and victim.
If a white guy killed a black intruder, I doubt it would be labled a hate crime.
If a black guy dragged a white guy behind a truck and told the cops, "I did it cuz I hate honkeys" I bet it would be called a hate crime.
Obviously theres clear cut cases.
What about the instance that happened I believe in Texas. 2 kids beat the hell out of a 16 y/o hispanic for making out with their sister or some such. I mean they well and truly fvcked this kid up. I believe the 2 kids were white, and were not known as the best role models for others their age. During the attack they screamed racial slurs at them.
Is this a hate crime or a crime of passion, spur of the moment type of thing?

Makes those clan hats a perfect fit though, eh?
Beyond that, the "point" you think you are making here is fatally flawed. Don't be "cross", see if you can find your own simplistic flaw.
And still no one addresses my original question.
name me the last time a minority was charged with a hate crime.
Or do you contend that minorities are incapable of hate crimes, and in fact only white people can commit hate crimes?
it has nothing to do with KKK or White Power. It has to do with the fact that minorities are held to a different standard then whites in the court of law. As well as in education and careers as well.
Now the inronic thing is *I* want a fair system for everyone, you seem to be happy with the current system on inequality.
Who's really the racist?

Thanks.

In all fairness, most racically-motivated crimes are committed by white people against minorities (although the overall crime rate is relatively low among whites, and the violent crime rate by far the highest among blacks), and white people are still in the majority, by far, in nearly all of the country. You wouldn't expect to see parity in this area. This alone does not necessarily mean the law is implemented in a racist way.
