What has she got to lose? Bitch is probably on welfare anyways.

Now that's racist.

Poor is a race?

Apparently!

No you mental midget. She's not poor. He assumed she was. It's not unreasonable to think that he assumed that because she was black. It's probably not the case, but could you honestly not connect the dots and figure out that's what JToxic meant?

First of all, its not midget, its small person :)
Second of all, i think they were kidding, and i clarified what i meant if you scroll up.

Oh quit playing the race card and encouraging this crap. I've watched airline (which films southwest airlines) and I've seen on one episode a white lady being told she has to buy 2 seats.

I'm sure the lady got pissed off and like in any situation when there's an angry uncooperating passengers the police are called in to help calm the situation.

There's plenty of racism towards whites and other races as well that comes right back but you don't hear any of those people playing the race card.

whats there to roll your eyes at? that WAS a racist comment. He made an assumption based on her race that she's probably on welfare when infact she is well-off (president of a company, so Im guessing she's well off). Not all black people are on welfare.

But I do agree that she's an ass for playing the race card and needs to have a heart attack

Hey dumbass, why dont you read my explanation?
Here, i'll quote myself for you:

No. I said that because if she starts suing over things like that, that means she is eager for easy cash. So i just exaggerated and said that she's on welfare

Well, see the problem with your line of thinking is that you are making the fallacious assumption there is/was a "white woman just as big that didn't get told she had to buy two seats."

We can only go off with the information as presented and just can't wildly assume other factors, unless you want everybody to act like retards.

Even So... the fact remains that she did leave the plane when asked. Any consumer has the right to arbitrate over the cost of a product. Especially if they feel injustice is occuring... like a large person being FORCED to buy 2 seats. When asked to leave the plane, and told she'd be given a full refund, she agreed and then was confronted by police and employees. A bit excessive, don't you think?

Anyway, that's the only way I can feasibly see her sueing for racism. The company agreed that it's documentation wasn't presented IN WRITING to the consumer, so she could sue based on that. The only way she could sue for racism is if a person of a similar size was treated differently.

Ahhhh the race card. Played yet again by a black person in order to escape the responsibilities for their own actions or lifestyle choices.

it sounds to me like the police officers and sw employees were on their way to help take an angry passenger off the plane who did not buy the proper amount of tickets, and she happened to be exiting as they arrived, if timed the same and treating the employees as badly as she inevitably did, yes, it would have happened to anyone who is fat.

According to the news reports SW airlines did not document that policy in writing. That would be helpful for a person of larger stature deciding which airline to fly, no?

If they don't present it in writing it isnt so...

You're an idiot. If they use two seats, they pay for two seats. What happens on a full plane when someone who paid for the seat next to them has absolutely nowhere to sit? Injustice my ass.

The article says that she refused to leave at first. Is it not conceivable that at that point, the police were called, and arrived just about the time Fatso decided to get off the plane? The courts need to do with this case what this woman does to a plate of food - make it disappear.

Hey mental midget is MY line! :(

Anyway, the woman is obviously ignorant to an extreme degree. She's out for fast cash, abusing the legal system and using any kind of faux pas she can find to gain money she doesn't earn or deserve.

That's pretty much a decent description of the majority of those leeching off of welfare.

Seems valid to me.

:disgust:I was a frequent viewer of the TV program "Airline", in which Southwest Airlines exposed itself to public view on all matters involved in operating an airline ourside of the cockpit. As I recall, the problem of obesity and the purchase of two seats came up at least 4 times and three of the four obese individuals were white.

This woman is asinine. She has mindlessly created an issue from nothing while completely failing to recognize that she is morbidly obese. She fits and epitomizes the popular stereotype of mean, fat, Black women so popular in movies and TV. They are aggressive, single minded (read my opinion only), and loud (the article states she began yelling at the Southwest employees). It is unfortunate that she is not alone in fitting that stereotype (and not all of the actors are obese), and she has glorified its goals with national publicity. They do that, behave in that manner, in an unconscious, desire to make themselves relevant.

This is sadly another step backwards in the mind of those so inclined, in the efforts of those Black Americans seeking to be just another individual - not a Black individual.

Before you go ballistic, I am a 70 year old Black male that has spent 70 years trying to become just another guy - with all that implies. That's all Dr. martin Luther King died for. Not to be relevant, not to be irrelevant, just to be !!!!

Oh quit playing the race card and encouraging this crap. I've watched airline (which films southwest airlines) and I've seen on one episode a white lady being told she has to buy 2 seats.

I'm not playing any race card. That doesn't matter what you've seen. It matters that they present the documentation to the consumer BEFORE she purchases her ticket. It's very simple... all they need is a disclaimer. This woman was pulled aside and embarressed. Wouldn't you be angry? She should have had this information before hand because it could have played a large part in the selection of airlines, perhaps buying the extra ticket before hand. That's an embarrassing situation, and the fact is that SW airlines DID NOT provide the necessary information beforehand. Therefore they ARE LIABLE.

I'm sure the lady got pissed off and like in any situation when there's an angry uncooperating passengers the police are called in to help calm the situation.

Oh, now I think you're the one playing the race card. Large black woman has to get mad and uncooperative in that situation.

She was coaxed off the plane by being told she'd recieve a refund. Instead she's met by 2 police officers and SW employees. Wouldn't you be mad?

There's plenty of racism towards whites and other races as well that comes right back but you don't hear any of those people playing the race card.

Never said there wasn't. But facts are facts, and racism happends to black people much more then whites. I suppose you've never been frisked and searched in front of a crowd of strangers while doing holiday shopping because the store manager accused u of shop lifting... I have several such stories. If you can provide me an example of a sitation that you've been discriminated against, I'd like to hear it. Until you can, fvck off.

If that's true you should go have a chat with classy.

Also assuming it's true, what the hell inspires you to hang out in this crowd? I'm still in my early 20's & can barely stand the teenagers that have taken over the place.

The idea of a 70 year old here makes me skeptical, to say the least.

Agreed. But SW airlines policy states that if you can't lower the armrests then you have to purchase a second seat. Lowering arm rests does no constitute using 2 seats IMO. SW admitted that their policy WAS NOT EXPLAINED PROPERLY. Which is what should have happened. Why is this so hard to understand?

The article says that she refused to leave at first. Is it not conceivable that at that point, the police were called, and arrived just about the time Fatso decided to get off the plane? The courts need to do with this case what this woman does to a plate of food - make it disappear.

The article clearly says SW employees told this woman that she needed to buy a second seat. THEY NEVER TOLD HER WHY. She refused, as I'm sure anyone would do in that situation. If you're told that you have to buy a second seat, but never told why wouldn't you refuse to?

He said they made some mistakes about explaining the seat policy and that the policy at that time was not clearly written. But he said the workers did not act out of racism.

Agreed.

I love how they have ENLARGE under her photo. :D

And charging her for two seats had NOTHING to do with the color of her skin, it had to do with HOW MUCH OF IT there was!

What has she got to lose? Bitch is probably on welfare anyways.

Nevermind..

Turns out she owns a company.

She needs to start a weight-loss company ASAP.
