That would be the head bobbing that most likely made ya nauseous.
Unfortunately turning it off made the weapon scopes not zoom and inability to sprint.
Aiming was/is fine for me, turned off that auto aim in options and it controls just like any other pc fps. (unlike, lets say Dead Space, where it never was 100% correct on pc)
For me personally , i would have liked to have seen this title and Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood do better cuz im so tired of WAR game sequals.
Dont get me wrong i love games with great story lines too, but this title did exactly what i expected, it was a straight forward FPS with that "kill everything that moves" gameplay.

It's actually kind of hard to explain if you don't know what we mean. It kind of zooms automatically when you shoot, it's not quite as precise, and almost makes you aim for "areas" instead of where you want to. It just feels wonky - like a 360 controller when you are so used to playing w/ a mouse/kb. I did NOT find this game like that, but I know exactly what people mean by saying it.
It's not a great game, but it's not bad. It probably wasn't worth as much as I paid to buy it but it's not crap. The graphics are good, the game play is pretty good - although it's a bit easy overall even on hard. I think the "veil" power are generally pretty good although it's a shame so much time needs to be spent in the veil because the game ends up washed-out green a bit.
Overall I gave it a "B-" when I reviewed for the gaming group at my company. It's fun enough, and I think it's a decent game. It's not like Bioshock or FEAR where I was amazed by it... it's not even as good as Dead Space, but overall it's decent. It's a standard first-person shooter that is barely different from the last batch of first-person shooters (except for the veil, and even that's been done, although Wolfenstein does it pretty good), not a particularly great one, but it's not bad...
I don't have the consolish game pad aiming - it aims just like a regular PC mouse game, like FEAR. There's an option to turn it on somewhere in the menus - assisted targeting or something like that - but it's off by default.

The crappy hub world was part of the problem too. The same streets with infinite re-spawn is not what I consider content. Traveling (repeatedly) through the city became a chore, and just wasn't fun after a while.
Talking abut chores, the scavenger hunt for money/tomes/intel was also pretty tiresome, but necessary. Which leads to the next problem...
The money and tomes are necessary because they tried to tie in an RPG element into the game were you bought limited upgrades from the black market, but it was half-assed. If it had been a real RPG, I could've just shot the black market guy in the head, accepted the negative karma, and taken the upgrades from him. That's the point of the a merchant NPC in an RPG - either I do the 'right' thing and pay them, or I do the 'wrong' thing by killing them and/or stealing their wares. If the merchant is just there to give me upgrades in exchange for things I have to find throughout the game, why not just give me the damn upgrade when I find whatever it was that I was supposed to find?
On the plus side, I enjoyed most of the actual combat/missions. Basically, the parts where it was just an FPS were fun to me. It wasn't ground breaking, but it was fun and what I expected buying an id/Raven game. IMO, I think it would have been a better game overall had they just been honest and made it a linear FPS without the inclusion of weak RPG elements and a pretense to having an open world.

A game sequel to a storied franchise is released to tepid reviews and you're surprised it didn't sell well, and you're surprised people who read a host of meh reviews didn't pony up $50 for the experience? And if someone doesn't shell out money for a reportedly average FPS you infer they would have no interest in any other original or non-CoD FPS should it be released to praiseworthy reviews?
what exactly is your point, that people should pay $50 for so-so games to subsidize FPS game development in the hopes that eventually a good non-CoD FPS is released?
by the way, cod4 was friggin awesome, and if cod4-2 is as good I'd be quite happy to purchase more of its sequels in coming years

Yeah, that just about sums it up. This game raised great expectations, given the Wolfenstein name-tag. Unfortunately, according to most of the reviews and user comments, it is Wolfenstein in name only.
Poor ports equate to poor sales, yet the poor developers once again point the finger at piracy. Give me a break.

The art direction didn't do much for me and the reviews called it tired and formulaic. You might like paying $50 for that experience but I'm going to wait until the price drops to $20.

I liked it a lot. It's pretty faithful to the Wolfenstein mythology, even referencing and introducing characters from previous games.
I guess it's formula and stale in the way Halo 3 is to Halo 1 and 2, like MW2 will be to MW1, like L4D 2 will be to L4D 1. Having said that, there's something to be said for a solid, fun shooter, and they do enough with the game to make it fresh and enjoyable IMO. I've run through it once on Bring the Pain and now I'm working my way through on Uber Hard, so yeah, I think it's a pretty good game.

I'm anxious to try it. If I had the money, I'd buy it tonight. I'm not expecting much. I just want some gloom, and some Nazis to shoot. I'd pay $40 to have the RTCW maps ported over to the new engine, with nothing else new. It would be sweet if some modders did that with the old levels :^)
It may be bad, I don't know, however I think their biggest mistake is that it isn't on Steam. I didn't even know the fucking thing came out yet because they aren't on Steam. I get my game news these days from Steam Update News that pops up. May be sad, but I only purchase boxes for instant-classics for my collection.
LOL! Nonsense. I'm about half way through. It may have some weird option to toggle that I am not aware of but I left everything pretty much at default and there is no 'console aiming.' It plays like any garden variety FPS.
And itsa pretty good game IMO. Those that don't like it mostly made up their minds in advance. Crisis/Fear/Wolf/Farcry/etcetc. Really there is nothing new in the genre....it's not rocket science....you either like the setting or you don't.
