wiz will never be considered amongst biggie n tupac becaues (among other reasons) they are golden age rappers and that age is over. itd be like saying that some great punk band from the 80's would be mentioned with led zepelin and the stones one day in their respective genre.
i think that a lot of waynes popularity (aside from his ability to spew non-sensical rhymes almost infinitely) came from the fact that a newer generation needed a new "greatest" rapper to associate with, one that was "theirs" and not annointed by the previous generation. same with the whole skinny jeans and minimalistic beats phase... it was just new regions/generations putting their own twist or trademark on the genre to make it individual to them. now these "experimentations" might not always be your kind of thing, but its from them that quality music with a new fresh sound is born.
now i can go on and on about my love for the golden age of rap, but the fact of the matter is you can only listen to illmatic, reasonable doubt, southernplayalistic, etc so many times before you need to listen to something else. thats why i like keeping up with new music and finding the good stuff (and im sure i miss a BUNCH). sure i could sit back and bitch about how so-and-so will never be as great as the folks were "back in MY day", but then not only do i sound like an asshole whose time has past, but i also miss out on some great music.
