Can you show us the math on that?

By the way it's awesome that you're simultaneously calling other people cheapskates and then arguing that their preferred method of compensation would make things too expensive. Do you think before you write?

too busy romancing toasters to think.

At this point openwheels is just pulling numbers out of his\her ass. Since openwheels doesnt like dealing with reality. I am surprised it wasnt 150% menu costs increase.

It's like he doesn't even realize how incoherent his point is. If you're truly a cheapskate you can go out to eat every night and never tip. The other diners will effectively be subsidizing your meal! The wage system, among its other benefits, eliminates free riders.

Shut the fuck up cheap ass with your logic and shit.

Age old question again, why is it that the cheap bastards are so afraid of being called cheap?

You willing to pay 40% more for the same steak?

I am willing to pay a flat 18% service fee that's going to be spread across the entire staff, yes

A model that has been adapted by many restaurants.

so in the mean time, you are avoiding restaurants with voluntary tipping system?

Perhaps you feel like you are being robbed of 18%, or you simply step foot inside an establishment you couldn't afford in the first place?

I eat where the food is good, tip what I feel like, and engage in economic tipping discussions on Anandtech.

Luckily most of the better establishments I frequent already have a flat 18% service fee.

It must make you cringe whenever you are forced to eat a an established restaurant. All that anger and frustration when you see the gratuity line. What do you normally feel like tipping? 0%? 10%, maybe more? All that cheapskate personality must be hidden inside in front of friends/family while tipping. You wish you can tell your server to stuff that tip up her beautiful@4$$ because you think you over tipped. Oh the agony of being a cheap bastard.

FYI: the secret to good trolling is to not appear to be trying too hard.

It's boring because the trolls keep coming up with same nonsensical retorts when they're actually asked to provide some logic behind their positions.

"You cheap bastard!" :)

Well it is impossible to argue with dense people who have no zero experience in the industry, nor have the basic understanding of the economics behind the tipping system. Rather than a heated discussion without actual content, it is best to keep it light.

It's super simple dude - other countries don't have a tipping culture, we don't need one either. Other industries don't have tipping cultures either.

y'all aint the special snowflakes you think you are.
