That's a pretty bizarre take on the situation, and not even the least bit accurate.
You know I have a unique way of looking at things and my intention not always obvious. I never worry about being bizarre or accurate if I want to take you someplace.

Can the court declare a law that says you can't kill yourself with a bomb in a public square because it violates your inalienable rights? What is the difference between personal risk taking and risk taking multiplied many thousands of times where we aren't talking about risk any more but the certainty of a vastly increased number of dead.

Doesn't your willingness to take risk stop at my door where your willingness is die makes my wish to live far more unlikely?

When I get sufficient political power to appoint the Supreme Court Justices of my liking we will have law that state that anyone not practicing best medical advice on preventing the spread of the virus will be shot on sight. In California here, the sharks are really going to love high tide.

From a totalitarian point of view, that's sound governance. Clearly the simplest method of controlling the general population is through fear.

And as you know, it's worked well for 30+ decades now, having created the Fox news audience that now commands the GOP. ...you do see that, right?

fear the welfare queen!
fear the mean scientists telling you that lead is poison!
fear the liberals taking your guns!
fear the gay AIDs!
fear the liberals taking your oil!
fear those who make you wear masks!
etc.

Way to dodge the point: many employees don't have a choice.

And car collisions are not contagious, let alone contagious up to 14 days before they happen. Stop trying to minimize preventable deaths

We could prevent tens of thousands of deaths a year if we prohibited driving cars. Why don't we?

Maybe you see from the responses you have already received for this post that perhaps you project your own psychological situation onto me. Could it be that you were made to behave via fear, yourself, and fear of what has already happened to you and repressed from conscious awareness is what you fear will happen today? That is how I read the situation. Same thing happened to me. That is why it's easy for me to understand the authoritarian response any situation that threatens me would require to end it quick and permanently. Of course I will never feel totally safe until I live in a world of clones. We must all conform and I will be the head sheep just to be sure.

Every day you step out your front door you're taking a risk. The odds of dying from C19 are comparable to the odds of dying in a car accident.
Right and that is why we have traffic laws, those nasty anti personal freedom unconstitutional laws that say you can't drive down the wrong side of the street. It's terrorism, I tell you. "I'll drive any fucking way I want to."

I would say:
Object to the welfare queen.
Listen to the mean scientist telling you that lead is poison (i'm EPA licensed for lead abatement).
Don't give the liberals your guns, they might hurt themselves.
Seek medical attention if you have the gay AIDs, or if you have the straight AID's
I didn't know liberals wanted the oil, that's an odd one.
Wear a mask during a pandemic, it's good manners.

Wisconsin Death With Dignity Law specifically calls for physician assisted suicide, not death by Supreme Court Justices. There is nothing dignified about dying from a virus you didn't legally get cleared to catch. Think of the men who are going to bring the virus home and kill their pregnant wives along with the fetus, I mean the child.

But men take the same risk when they drive their pregnant wives anywhere. Should we ban driving by that logic?

I swear...this generation of ultra-entitled middle-aged-to-boomer assholes has really got to be pissing off their dead parents and grandparents.

I mean, can you fucking imagine them bitching about a temporary month-2 month inconvenience of having to stay at home, eat safe food and water, demand not one single sacrifice of themselves, for anyone, compared to the years that their parents before them lived?

lol--I wonder if these shitbird "Adults" have the minimal capacity to think for themselves, a mere minute, about this "unfair demand" placed upon them in the backdrop of a literal worldwide pandemic that simply does not give a flying fuck about their personal feels or political inclinations

I mean, you old fucks are the most entitled sons of bitches anywhere, ever, and yet you bitch on and on about how the ebil millenials are ruining your precious fucking lives.

Just fucking get over yourselves you entitled, lazy, ignorant pricks.

Here's your actual motto, you so-called freedom-loving "patriot" assholes:

"Ask not what I can do for my country--or anyone--but what I demand what you must do for me, for my feels are very precious, and my minor, temporary inconveniences a moral wound that I dare not suffer!"

You will all forever be known as the Bitchass Generation.

that's fair. 😀

But just to point out a thing: Objecting to the Welfare Queen is the same as saying one Objects to Unicorns. ...I mean, OK, so? One can object to mythology all they want, it still serves no useful, addressable purpose in the real world.

I didn't project anything you said "When I get sufficient political power to appoint the Supreme Court Justices of my liking we will have law that state that anyone not practicing best medical advice on preventing the spread of the virus will be shot on sight". Your words, your thoughts, your desires. None of them mine.

Yes, I can absolutely see the greatest generation objecting to the stay at home order. Masks they would do, staying home would never happen. Those people had a serious work ethic. My own father worked construction, he fell of a roof one day and broke an arm and a leg. He was on the job at 8 AM the next morning. Those people were hard as nails, self sufficient, and durable.

Perhaps it's better to use a narrower brush?

Are you not casting the same broad net that they so foolishly do?

We shouldn't need a fucking government order. People should be smart enough to stay at home because its necessary to LIVE.
Since most Americans are fuckin stupid they need an order. And since so many Americans are REALLY fuckin stupid they pressured the supreme court to overrule the order and now they can all go on to dying in mass numbers.
Fuck em.

Actually to a large extent such orders are needed. First of all, those that violate the order accelerate the infection rate, thus endangering all-or at the very least driving up the costs all of us must pay for their medical treatment. Secondly, without an order and your employer calls you back-you must return to work or unemployment comp ends.

Excellent point, but I don't think it is generational. I wonder how many of these entitled pansies ever spent even one night sleeping rough in their lives?

Like the fear of your liberties are being taken away?

I was referring to the two first quoted I made above in the post. Seems that others than me see you as motivated by fears. It is quite natural, of course, that you would deny it. The whole point of imagining the world as you do would be not to be aware of those fears. Without internal denial there would be no projecting, but just because you can't and won't see it doesn't mean that others can't see what you are doing. Try to trust. Once we have been humiliated by fear and become fearful we don't like to see ourselves that way. You are OK in my book even with your fears because we are all the same and if I had contempt for your fears I would just hate myself for being the same.

Not the point. We could save tens of thousands of lives by banning driving. Why dont we?
I think driving should be more restrictive using passive controls in street design, increasing driver training, and reducing oversized vehicles. The auto industry has done a great job normalizing auto collision deaths, as if they are unavoidable.

Regardless, talking about auto collision deaths is a whataboutism in this thread. They aren't contagious, so kindly fuck right off with your nonsense.

This is what happens when a group is primed with science denial for decades. They have a fundamental lack of both respect and comprehension for concepts like 'contagion.' Ripe pickings for a conman who tells them everything they want to hear when it comes to health, or anything really. This is a cult we're dealing with now.

Treasonous Trump the Impeached is acting like coronavirus doesn't exist if you don't test for it, pretty unbelievable. We're dealing with two national disasters here; governance via dementia and covid19.

For the same reason we don't kill everybody who has the virus or carries it.

I am sure that regardless of what bias those State Supreme Court Justices may hold personally, they acted to the best of their understanding of our constitution. We all have been terrorized as children by the thought control police and project those fears onto our government, and our Forefathers put into law concepts designed to prevent a police state. So once you fix into law a fear of one form of tyranny, you open the door to the abuse of reality in the name of personal freedom. We live in conditions where the individual states make their own rules as to how much personal liberty can be nipped in the name of the greater good on other people. Wisconsin has chosen to allow citizens to kill each other in the name of personal freedom. Trump will of course try to force all the other states to do the same. Only psychopaths indifferent to the fate of our citizens will seek to make their way universal.

I guess we all pay for the Darwinian suitability of our neighbors and those we elect.

I do so love evasiveness.

Presume it's in your power to ban driving across the country. By doing so you'd save 30,000 deaths a year. Would you ban driving?
