when does the 14 day period start? note, that I'm under the OEM System Builder's license, not the normal license, since this is the OEM version.

14 days starts the minute you install the OS.

Then I'll wait a few more months to let them work out more of the bugs, and use use XP Pro SP2 until then.

Today is a good day. Microsoft released WinXP Pro x64 Edition to us beta testers finally. It's downloading now. (Too bad I still don't have x64 drivers for my TV Tuner. Damn you Leadtek. :|)

so what did us OEM people get? home?

I'm not trying to sound snotty, rather I'm actually wondering, if it JUST went into beta, then what did we, the people who bought the OEM version, get? I sure hope it's not an alpha release.

I think there is only a Pro Edition of x64. And it's not in beta anymore, you are getting the same software I am, RTM. Only I get to download it today rather than wait for it to be sent to me. It's a reward for beta testing the OS for Microsoft.

I checked and not even ATI has 64bit drivers for their tuners. Sad. I just pulled the card. Maybe one day I'll get to use it again.

Has anybody gotten XP64 from the trade-in program yet? The status page still says "Order has been received. You will be charged at the time of order shipment". It's been over a month since I ordered the damn thing.

I tried installing it, but it bsod'd with irq not less or equal. Not sure it's worth the hassle of troubleshooting yet.

Any word yet on a 64 bit Flash? I know there wasn't one, just wondering if it's come out yet.

At this point I'm shelving the idea of migrating to X64. I have my CD image and CD Key safely secured for future use. XP Pro is more than adequate for the next year +.

Yeah, in retrospect I think that would have been the better option for me too, but I didn't want to dish out $180cdn for XP Pro when XP64 was available for cheaper. :)

Luckily for this only cost me time, no money. I've been beta testing for years now, I get all my OSes for free, this one was no exception.

I hope Microsoft invites me to beta test Longhorn...
