i'm very curious to see if running windows with 64 bits offers any performance improvement.
my tests have not yielded any better results, and i'm quite disappointed!

Unless the software you are running was specifically designed for x64, you're likely to not see any improvements over 32-bit software.
Likely, as in there isn't going to be a big difference between an x64 program and and x32 program. Take for example a hypothetical Microsoft Office compiled to support x64. You're likely to not see any noticable performance improvements because it doesn't even tax an x32 system.Originally posted by: BikeDude
That is a very vague statement and can mean almost anything. "likely"? And how do you determine if it was specifically designed for x64?
Fixed, the thread got shipped off to the Archives.Originally posted by: cbns

Loaded with adware though. Make sure you skower your system thoroughly after installing it.
Dtools used to be pretty clean. What are they thinking.

Thoughts?
Maybe they've discontinued the free trial?Originally posted by: yomafire
Why cant I download the free trial. I input my name etc. And it says "Not releasing cd key at this time"?
It would seem that way ATM. Perhaps they just ran out of keys and haven't generated any more yet, they've had that problem once before.Originally posted by: techfuzz

So, I just upgraded to XP Pro-64, are there any 64bit anti-virus programs out there? Or, am I stuck running a 32 bit one for now? I see Avast free supports 64bit, but is it any good?

I would personally use NOD32 x86-64, cheap and it's a pretty slick antivirus program to boot.
I am dual booting WinXP Pro x86 and WinXP Pro x86-64. And I will get NOD32 because it's only $40.

I am really mad about the TV tuner, I am disappointed about the webcam but I'm not surprised.
