Just thought I'd let all of you MSDN subscribers out there know that Vista Beta 1 is available on MSDN. Downloading it right now
You would still need a product key. And it does require activation....Originally posted by: QueZart
Open a Torent?..Then we could all get it as You do..

Beta 2 is supposed to be public, it will also have much more hardware support (and the pretty gui should be better) so it shouldnt be that long before you can play with it.For those of us who will never be able to [legally] have it on our systems

After looking at the screenies...nothing really looks different save for the movement of a few things (which could probably be acheived as well with clever skinning)
So am I the only one guessing that the GUI won't change?
Besides who would want to loose their beta tester privilages for you schmucks

This is Beta 1, which is all about the fundamentals; Beta 2 is about polish and bling. That being said...the Start Menu, Explorer window, and Control Panel have all changed quite a bit already.Originally posted by: magomago

Yes, and it will stay that way for awhile. The WinFS beta will be released around the same time that Windows Vista goes gold.Originally posted by: Genx87
Are they still using NTFS for the file system?
