Windows Media Player Problem...

I just fixed a video card problem and now Windows Media Player won't work. I completely removed (or tried to remove) Windows Media Player and then reinstalled Windows Media Player 9. The problem is... the old Media Player (mplayer2) won't play anything; avi (any compression, DivX, xVid, Sorensen, etc.), mp3, wav, etc. I just sits there and does nothing. Media Player 9 will play video (any compression) but with no sound and it won't play mp3, wav, etc. However, Winamp will play everything! So obviously my codecs are installed properly and my drivers are as well. But for the sake of getting this to work I tried reinstalling my audio drivers and video drivers again. I still have the same problem. Anyone know how I can fix this? (without reformating) 🙂

Try to be more specific. What was the video problem and how did you fix it?

I really have no clue as to what the cause of the problem could be, but if you give more details, your chances will be much better at finding someone who had the same issue. All the best!

have you checked all the setting in WMP9...when you say WMP9 wont play mp3's and what not what do you mean does it not make sound or what? more info definatly needed if we are going to help you.
