I just fixed a video card problem and now Windows Media Player won't work. I completely removed (or tried to remove) Windows Media Player and then reinstalled Windows Media Player 9. The problem is... the old Media Player (mplayer2) won't play anything; avi (any compression, DivX, xVid, Sorensen, etc.), mp3, wav, etc. I just sits there and does nothing. Media Player 9 will play video (any compression) but with no sound and it won't play mp3, wav, etc. However, Winamp will play everything! So obviously my codecs are installed properly and my drivers are as well. But for the sake of getting this to work I tried reinstalling my audio drivers and video drivers again. I still have the same problem. Anyone know how I can fix this? (without reformating)
