Windows error message I keep getting.

I keep getting this error message and I can not fingure out how to resolve it. Any help?

Select "manage"
expand "Services and Applications"
Select "Services"
Scroll down to "Messenger" and right click on it
Select "Properties"
Change "Startup type" to "Disabled"
...
Get a firewall

Oh, btw...that's not a windows error message. It's coming from another computer.

Install XP SP2! SP2 turned off the messenger service by default.

ok, thanks for that tip. I believe that a laptop that was recently added to my network may be the source of these issues. This had never happened before I plugged in the PC to the router. Spyware or Malware perhaps? Wouldn't surprise me as the lappy is a loaner that I allow others to use.
