Would this be worth having on a non-touchscreen? It sure looks like it's "optimized" for touchscreens with how it looks.

i have been reading on a few forums the last few days and have seen many say that there was way more anticipation for windows 7 than for 8. some are defending it pretty openly and some hate it. i do not have a touchscreen and will be trying it as soon as it is posted on technet. i am keeping an open mind and not letting the negative people influence my decision.

I remember trying the RC version posted on Microsoft's homepage and a lot may have changed since. I didn't like the way it looked with the "Metro" layout. It was nice to have a normal homescreen option, but it was way too confusing for me to like it just yet. I like the "clean" look of Windows 7.

Xp was a beast, though.

When meeting a lot of the the people that are in the Tech. News business (and I did) you realize that many of them are Journalist that choose (or forced) to write about Tech. However they are Journalist Not Tech people, many times they do not really understand what they are talking about.

Others have Agenda (like don't judge Dem. by Fox News, and do not learn about Rep. from MSNBC).

Windows 8 won't install without a key. Windows Vista and Windows 7 permitted you to bypass the key entry portion of the setup and enter the key later after the OS was already installed. I'm disappointed that they've regressed in that regard :\

Same boat as sharpie, I have it downloaded but cant get to the keys.

I have not tried to install it yet, I noticed in the keys section I can get keys for the Pro version, but I did not see the Pro version in downloads...

Does anyone know if you just need the regular Win8 iso and it installs Pro features based on the key?
