Well you're right on that one it's not for me!!!! ANd we like using exclamation marks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's DOS based, but it's not 16bit...

DOS = Disk Operating System. DOS is not inheirantly<sp?> 16bit.

I don't want to get into this war but I have a few things to say. First of all, your "problems" are all user-related. You don't know the OS and therefore need a little time to learn how to do things such as upgrading drivers. Second, Win2k is a BUSINESS OS. If all you want to do is play games, then you have no business using win2k. Windows 9x/Me are designed for people like you because they are compatible with almsot all games and they are easy to use. Windows 2000 is designed for business/work and it does that very, very well. Stability and security are the main features of win2k, not playing games. However, for those who know what they are doing win2k can play most games quite well. It might require a little work, such as finding game patches and upgrading drivers, but it does work.

I will not call you a moron, but I will say that you should have researched this BEFORE you upgraded to win2k. Now just delete win2k and be on your way... 🙂

OK GM. Now that you've called me an idiot, why, if Win98 is a 16-bit OS, are applications developed using the Win32 standard running on win98? Could that be because win98 is a 32-bit OS?

br0wn - Hehe. I had almost lost all faith in Microsoft as an OS manufacturer before I tried Windows 2000. I was absolutely stounded at the diffrence between 9x and 2k.. It's wonderful.

This is a fun thread... 😉

These new smileys are freakin' me out... *nudge Zuni*

I don't want to talk to you (THE GUY THAT THINKS THAT WIN98 is 32BIT)
It can maybe support 32 bit but it's not!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stop saying that i can't use win 2k You betch your As s i can i probaly have been using computers and OS s longer than any of you and yes I knew that it was buissness oriented but I also thought that they improved on the win98 games performance!!!!!!! Stop calling me a moron i wasn't calling anybody names or ELSE!!!!!!!!

As many people have stated Win2K is an OS that is meant for people that want to get work done, not play games. Sure some people have gotten it to work well with games, and others haven't that still does not make Win2K a terrible OS. I have been running it since mid march and I can truly say that I have not had one single problem with it at all, nothing , period notta. I play a few games, but most of what I do with my computer is either personal or business related. I want a solid OS that will not buckle under the least bit of pressure(win9X). I have used Windows since 3.0 and I have been happy with what the Win9X OS's offered but they just don't have what it takes to hang Win2K.

Win2K is a rock solid OS that Microsoft has done an exceptional job at producing. It is bar none the best OS they have produced.
