the latest build designated "Windows 10, October 2018 Update, Version 1809, Build /17763.1" is ~99% final; links for the .iso file are available.
Or: the actual "final version 1809" should also be ready by the end of September, barring some "last-minute glitch".
 
Today release of Win 10 1809.1 is currently Installed on one of my computer.

The whole process, doing it my way, took about an Hour and everything seems to be well.

My way?? Since I have more than 20 computers (three locations) I use the Media Tool to create ISO on my main SSD (because it is fast). Then using Rufus I make a solid Bootable USB3 of all versions (takes 6.9 GB on the USB), keeping the ISO as a backUp.

Doing so enable me to save on the Data to download for each computer, and it is also safer to upgrade a computer from USB rather than through the Internet.

The technical result of the Upgrade are similar to the previous upgrade and at the Moment everything run well.

Downloading now through Windows Update. I thought it wasn't going to start rolling out until the 8th through Windows Update? Anyway, it's still installing so I will report back with any issues.

System is an older HP Elitebook 8460P laptop with a few upgrades.
 
Alright well that was pretty painless. Just getting into it but I don't like that the ability to change the screen brightness by clicking on the battery icon in the lower right has been removed. Maybe I can restore that feature with a little googling.
Everything else seems to be working fine for now but a I probably discover more as I get into it.
 
Upgraded four of my rigs thus far. One Ryzen desktop, I had some USB hub troubles, that led to a spontaneous reboot, in the middle of Windows Update doing the installation. It's also overclocked on air, which... sometimes... seems to cause issues with Windows Update? It was downloading... installing... download.... installing... it just seemed to keep starting from the beginning.

Before I started it, though, I had downloaded the ISOs and made a USB flash drive with 1809 (32/64 both).

So I used the flash drive to upgrade, and it worked, although it set my Radeon drivers back to "Graphics Mode", when I had them set to "Compute mode" for mining. I installed the newest AMD drivers anyways, in case there were tweaks for Win10 1809.

I also updated a Lenovo IdeaPad 110S Cloudbook. I had roughly 10GB free, and somehow, it upgraded, using an install USB. Then after it upgraded, I removed the old version of Windows using Disk Cleanup | System Files, and then I ended up with 13GB free. Pretty decent, really. Not nearly as difficult as I had it before, didn't get a free space warning.
 
Updated 4 pc's with it this afternoon and so far all is good. My tablet couldn't get it via WU so I used the update now site and it installed just fine.

My Dell XPS 13 upgraded painlessly. Usually, my servers have been updated first.

UPDATE: Luckily, I started with my backup computers when I found out about the update erased my documents files.

Can you go into more detail? How did you create an ISO with all the versions on it?
 
Download the Media Tool

Choose this - "Using the tool to create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) to install Windows 10 on a different PC".

Run the media tool on any computer. When start there will be a choice to create ISO for other computers, that will yield a 6.4GB ISO that include Win 10, Win 10 N, all versions in x86 and x64.

To make a Bootbale USB use Rufus.

My experience shows that 8GB free on the SSD will be enough to Upgrade.

After the Upgrade it will go down to about 3GB and when cleaned with Win 10 native Disk Cleaner it will go back to about 10 GB free.

Overall the upgrade seemed to go well and also I was happy to see that Windows Defender Application Guard works now in Edge to open a secure browser session.

Also, they fixed a bug with 3rd party cookies in Edge:

However, One of my VMs upgraded to the newest build and of course the RSAT tools stopped working as I expected.

It says there should be an option to install it in the control panel under add/remove windows components, according to this :

But I am not seeing that option…and this is on 2 computers now: 1 VM and 1 physical. The VM had the old RSAT installed but the physical one never did and was a fresh install.

So I have no idea what's going on there!!! Anyone have any good comments? Thanks!
 
I've liked the dark app theme but dark explorer is a bit too much; from what I can tell the two cannot be toggled independently, at least not right now.
 
With the last several Windows updates including 1809. I am getting quite of few blue screens. Windows 10 used to be rock solid. I thought it was my ram, so I over volted. Same goes for my CPU, same result. I guess I will do another clean install once I get the .iso file for 1809 and see how that works.

Have you used a utility like Blue Screen View to see what is causing the BSODs? Might be much quicker than a clean install (or full reset):

It's funny you mention that. A couple months ago I had Windows 10 doing that every few times our son would play CS:GO on the desktop (so maybe once or twice a week). And then one day, I noticed he didn't mention it again, and he confirmed the issue went away. Only change was Windows updates. Wouldn't be quite so weird if I had a VM with a fresh (at the time) Windows 10 install (had just downloaded the iso from Microsoft) doing the same thing at least twice, and then for no apparent reason stopped (these were not running on the aforementioned desktop). Point: I had a suspicion a Windows update caused at least some issues here, and have since been fixed (at least in my case). This may not relate directly to your post Hans, but I thought I would mention it for others with similar issues.

I have been checking the error codes on the blue screen. Windows says it's logging the issue and produces an error code. Some are repeated error codes and others I have never seen before. It seems that the error codes are akin to throwing darts at a dart board searching for a reason for the blue screen. It's not a big deal. The blue screens always seem to go away with either a patch or a stable Win 10 build. I know when my graphics card crashes because of overclocking and make adjustments. These blue screens have come during basic web browsing with no large amount of resources being used. Anyhow, I have the 1809 build up and running.
 
@Hans Gruber , you're overclocked. Have you dropped the overclock fully, and tested for a week that way? Chances are, if it goes away, and you don't get any BSODs, then your hardware might just be "gettin' old", being pushed so much. Though, a 4.5Ghz OC for an Ivy, doesn't sound SO harsh. Though I couldn't even get an i5-6400 to 4.5Ghz completely stable.

Thanks for the info. I updated last night, and the old Classic Shell still works fine. Is there any advantage to the new version?
