Winamp 5!

I really like so far, no bloat so it seems.

well it loads just as fast as winamo 2.x looks exactly teh same also. BUT you can use all your winamp 3 skins with it. some of teh ones i have are a lil buggy yet but thats expected. it has built in CD ripping. has a burning plugin. dont know about kenerl streaming. hopefully thats in here someplace

it uses lame to encode also 🙂

doesent seem buggy to me ive had it running for past 20 min with no probs

So far it's basically winamp 2 with winamp 3 skin support. That alone is a star in my book. 🙂

Do plug-ins designed to work for 3 still work with 5?

it is its working great for me, its basickly just 2 with 3s skinning features, and built in cd ripping

is there support for broadcasting a shoutcast station...?

if i can recall, winamp 3 didn't support it!

buahahaha, you're serious??? Not even with a 3rd-party plugin? No wonder it failed...

I'm really liking this. I agree, it is 2 with skinning of 3, but that's a great great thing. No crashes yet, but I haven't actually stressed it beyond playing mp3s.

EDIT: its useing a lot of mem tho. 32 megs running AVS

Crash and burn for me... tried to load MM3 skin and I get multiple errors and it crashes... I haven't even tried to play an Mp3 yet :disgust:

Nonstep skin doesn't seem to work. *snif*

Also, I dont understand all the issues about Winamp3 being bloated... this alpha is takin up the same amount of memory and processor usage as winamp3.
