The latest version of Winamp ruined it for me. I'm sticking with Windows media player... so much faster and less bloated. I will never go back to winamp.

Is that a joke?

So I just reformatted my HD and I'm using WMP 9. My last experience with WinAmp was ver 3, everyone agrees that ver was terrible. So I don't really want to go back. Why does everyone here use winamp over WMP? Just for the skins? That's not a reason for me since I don't care about what it looks like aside from being small and out of my way. Is there any other advantage to winamp? Less processor usage? WMP sends info about your MP3's to RIAA?

Thanks for advice!

Winamp 2.91 is free, it doesn't try to shove DRM down my throat, it does everything WMP does and it uses less resources. It also has more add-ons in the form of plugins.

Winamp 3 sucks.

Slightly off topic: Does anyone know if any version of winamp supports multiple "smart" playlists (like iTunes)? Or if there are any plugins available that help in this regard?
