I did take the acpi off once, changed the driver to standard pc.....the comp rebooted and it was like safe mode...also it wouldnt let me install any drivers properly, i had to revert back.....

You should turn off ACPI and then turn it off in the BIOS. Might work.

i tried before due to the irq problem, but since my re-installation its been cool...so far.........
