I really like Win2k in general. I feel it has the best stability/features without the unnecessary complications of, say, Linux.
However, I've run into some annoyances that I think should be addressed:
1. Horrible sound card drivers in general (although I hear the new Philips cards are good)
2. Does RealNetworks even TRY to make a RealPlayer for video that works in NT/2k? Their web site admits they KNOW that some videos do not work with Winnt/Win2k, and they are "working on it"
3. "Lock this Workstation" has a new "feature" in Win2k: the screen saver will not kick in unless set to "1 minute" delay; as a result, the energy saving monitor features will not work either. To get these to work on an unattended workstation you either have to Logoff or set the screensaver to under 1 minute (which is almost unusable)...
4. NetBIOS networking is HORRIBLY slow for unknown reasons... Even worse than NT 4.0.
Anyone care to comment on these or share others?
