wow, and i thought we lived in a free society where people made money everyday off such things as religion and death. anyone who has a 'problem' with this movie needs to head over to north korea.

no. it has not even been five years. As much as "they" are trying to make it out that they want to share a heroic story about those folks that passed away, they are lying. Bottom line, they (producers, directors, etc) are out to make money on a tragedy.

I personally wont - because I find it morally wrong to pay $14 for 2 people to watch a movie in the theaters when I can wait 6 months and buy the dvd for the same price.

I don't really want to see a movie where I know the story, tragic ending, which is based on an actual event - where hollywood gets a chance to screw it up and make money from it.

'Based on a true story' usually means the movie has been changed around to be nothing like what it was.

Screw Hollywood.

Probably not, but that's just because I rarely visit the movie theater any more. However, I have no problem with the movie. In fact, I am glad that a 9/11 movie is coming out, as it has been five years now, and I do think there are people that are already beginning to forget. Whether or not Flight 93 is completely accurate is beside the point. However, from what I have read, it seems as though the filmmakers went to great lengths to ensure that the film was as accurate as possible, taking into account that no one actually knows what happened in that plane. Also, keep in mind that every single living family member of the crew and passengers signed off on the film and wanted it to be made. Sure they will make money off the film, but it doesn't sound like a corrupt profit in my opinion.

No way, they are trying to cash in on a tragic event. If anything we should all get together and kill the people who funded and created the movie.

Might as well kill anyone who made a movie based on a true story...

We should start with all the War Films...

Than most of the Gangsta films....

Than we can go on to any true story in which "anyone died"

Exactly. People are stupid. Yay Shindlers list, down with Flight 93! Morons.

OF COURSE the makers of the film are doing it to make money. THAT'S WHAT THEY DO. I bet you don't think twice about the companies who made loads of little American flags and SOLD THEM FOR PROFIT to be put on your car or your window or your home, etc. I bet you don't think twice about buying those little magnetic ribbons that everyone was running around with on their cars. I bet you don't think twice about LOTS of other stuff that was done for the exact same reason this movie was made, and yet you're bitching about the movie.

even the Evening News is about making money and in order to keep ratings, what do they focus on? oh ya TRAGEDY, when is the last time your evening news headlined a hearwarming event? those are almost always put in at the end of the show with very little fanfare.

if you don't think tragedy sells, you aren't paying attention.

also, if you are going to get upset about this movie, what about stupid sammy sosa running around wrigley field with the american flag? god that guy irks me.

i completely agree with nik on this and i would bet the profit made on those magentic ribbons is going to china and not the states.

That aircraft was shot down by US military jets. I saw the F 16s going after it on the news. They only mentioned it once that day.
