Will you continue to eat at Subway? POLL

Will you eat at Subway?

  • Never liked it - but certainly won't eat there now.

  • I won't support a company who supported Jared.

  • I like the food and there is mischief in all companies.

  • What is Subway?

Subway obviously knew that its spokesman, Jared Fogle, who recently pled guilty to illicit sexual conduct with minor children, was attracted to children since 2011. That year, a journalist approached the FBI to let them know that Jared Fogle had told her “middle school girls are hot” several times.

Subway spokeswoman Kristen McMahon released a statement to the AP on Friday. McMahon said Subway regrets not acting further on the information.

What else do you want Subway to do? They went to the FBI and reported Fogle's ridiculous comments.

Also, not going to Subway isn't really punishing the corporate guys, it is punishing the franchise owners. Those franchise owners, for the most part, are fairly middle class. Subway is one of the cheapest franchises to open and operate and doesn't have a ridiculous millionaire requirement like McDonalds.

Not the biggest fan of Subway, so I don't go there much as it is. Jaredgate won't affect my decision in the slightest for future patronage.

Plenty of places I can get a sandwich. Never ate at Subway much, doesn't mean I wont ever go there again though, so I cant really do the poll.

With Lenny's, Publix, Tommy Johns, Firehouse and a ton of other sandwhich places around, I tend to avoid Subway. Not that this will impact my patronage much, but does give me a negative association.

whatever happened with their spokesperson would have no bearing on me eating there.

the horrible food is what keeps me from ever eating there

Poll provides limited choices for an answer. How do most of us respond?

As bad/salty as SW food can be ... It is (unfortunately) some of the "healthier" fast food out there, especially when trapped in an airport.

Any miscalculations on Fogle's part will not affect my patronage of SW ... As many as twice per year!

Commenting based only on what I read in this OP...

Wait. How would Subway know he did it just because someone made an accusation? If someone actually did tell Subway of the accusation at all (you said the accuser told the FBI), and Subway fired Jared without any evidence, Jared could sue. If Subway actually did know of the accusation and asked Jared about it, how do you know Jared didn't categorically deny it?

You know what? Even if the accuser did tell Subway instead of telling the FBI, and even if Subway did ask Jared, and even if Jared admitted to it: Saying a middle schooler is "hot" isn't illegal and Subway might have been in serious shit for terminating their contract with their spokesman.

Did you actually think about any of this?

Also, I can't say that I've seen any Jared Subway promos in that time frame (2011-2015). Did they continue to support him since that pseudo-allegation? I saw nothing to indicate it. It looked like Jared had run his course with them already.

Middle school girls are hot. Lock me up.

I think they are too but to actually act out in any way, shape, or form on that thought is where the where the line from admirer to "sick bastard" gets crossed. As for Subway they are too expensive for low quality deli meats so I stick to publix.

This. I'm not a fan of Subway...but on occasion, I'll get a sammich there. I don't fucking care about their pedo-spokesman. IMO, they handled the issue correctly.

You guys know we're talking 10-14 year olds right?
