Will we ever see a woman play in the NFL?

I'm just saying that the QB position more so than just about any other position on the field can survive without being the strongest or fastest person the field. It's a position that one excells in more through training, recognition, and execution than from physical merits. If there was one position that women *could* succeed at in the NFL, it's probably the most likely.

Girls are just not raised or encouraged to throw a football or read defenses, so you just don't see them even trying.

And other "She's" like Keyshawn Johnson have proven they can catch a football too. 😛

All joking aside though, female and male athletes should be kept seperate in EVERY instance at ALL levels. Any organized sport coming after 8th grade gym class needs a one-gender rule if you ask me. It's not even a matter of there maybe being a woman who can actually compete with the men so we should let her, but more of a matter of if there can't be a double-standard where men are allowed to compete with women too, then there shouldn't be exceptions made for the women to begin with.

These days, there is a WNBA, LPGA, Softball leagues, Ladies Bowling nights, and almost any Olympic event has a female competition as well. So there is pretty much a league for any male competition for women to play in now, so there's no excuse for that arguement of there not being opportunites for them. I admit there is a level of unfairness to those women who really are athletically gifted and want to take on the best men in the sport she's good at, but conversely, I would LOVE to play in the WNBA and make a handsome living playing against the best women but obviously I can't. So it's my opinion that the easiest way to avoid complications, unfair competition, and still have a level of fairness for both genders, just keep them apart and be done with the controversy.

What's this about a handsome living in the WNBA? I'm an entry level software engineer and even I make more money than most WNBA players. According to Wikipedia, their salary is capped at $44k for the first 3 years. Rookies make $30k.

Once you accept that women are physically inferior to men, it makes more sense to allow women to play in men's leagues. It's OK for someone to play "up" to the next level, but it's not OK for someone to play "down" to a lower level. i.e. in youth sports where it is broken up by age, an extraordinarily good player is often allowed to play at the next highest level. In wrestling, you can wrestle above your weight class.

If men were allowed to play in women's leagues, women's leagues could not exist because they would be dominated by men. Not so if women are allowed to play in men's leagues - there's no risk of the women running all the men out of the league. So what's the harm in letting them have a shot at it?

If a league wants to choose to exclude women or exclude men, that's fine by me. But when they let the women play in the men's leagues I see no reason to criticize them like so many people do.
