You get more idiotic and lecturing with every post. Next time, before you start scribbling, look around a forum a bit. You might even try thinking a tad too.

If you truly can read AND comprehend English, which is severely in doubt at this point, look back through this thread, or ANY thread I?ve posted in, and show me where I indicated that I care what anyone decides to purchase. If you can?t do this, you need to shut up.

Will both of you STFU? It doesn't make a damned difference, and neither of you is going to prove anything.

Who are you to tell me to do anything, HC? Mind your place and be adult enough to stay out of things that don't concern you.

WOW the air must be thin up there for you. Searching takes too much time, it is more fun watching someone get mad over something stupid.

Now who's lecturing? Anyway, fine. Have your yelling match. This is perhaps the fourth time I've seen you browbeat someone in a hardware forum, and I've only been here four months, so why would you stop now?

Enjoy yourselves, boys.

Chinkgai, if you've got any more questions, shoot.

You're behaving like an ass again, HC. That should matter to you a lot more than what I say.

Edit: I forgot to add that you're an ignorant know-nothing, son. But then you already know that, right? I ask you to take your crap elsewhere and I'm "lecturing" you? Punkass.

Now you're going to fall back to the utterly stupid and juvenile tactic of trying to read my emotions. Couldn?t find anything to support your whiny BS huh? You suck, and that's sad.

Can't we all just get along??? Chinkgai, sorry for thread crapping, it is just not right. HardWarrior, no since in us crapping this thread anymore. We both have our own thoughts. Just cuz we don't agree does not mean we can't get along.

Chinkgai, like the others have said. Your choices are great, with the exception of the the oil cooler. If you want to hide anything for a cleaner look, you can try swiftnets.com and take a look at thier mcp350. It is really small and quiet. It also has 13ft of head room and at only 25 dba. I do not remember what the flow rate is ( I want to say around 100 gph)but I know mine moves the coolant pretty good. Also for some good information you can go to futuremark.com to thier modding and cooling, got some good stickies that may answer some of your questions. Good luck and don't forget to test if for a few hours before you install it. You don't want to find a leak the hard way if you know what I mean. :)

There's no telling whether we agree or not, Mercdoc. We haven't disscused anything to do with water-cooling, have we? Near as I can tell, you've tried to attibute a whole slew of ideas to me that I've never expressed.

What's wrong with using a heatercore? Nothing. However, having used both I can say that it's wrong to suggest one while imparting the idea (to people trying to learn or just getting into water) that it's superior to a rad. The truth is that it isn't inherently superior, it's just cheaper and comes along with downsides all its own. Do I suggest using a rad? That's up to the modder to decide, hopefully after he/she is aware of the facts of the matter.

HardWarrior I am not going for a pissing contest. And when did I say anything about a hc being better(superiour)?? I said cheaper but not better. So why all the hating man. So we do agree on cheaper, there is a start.

wow so much tension going on in this thread. i didnt realize heatercore vs rad was like intel vs amd

but then again, i was so noob i didnt know what "exchanger" meant

but i've learned quite a bit and its drawn me to my conclusions as stated above:

aquaextreme 50z/mcp600 (ridiculously hard to find! dont want to buy it in CA to avoid taxes)
dangerden tdx
bonneville heatercore (the 302)

i chose this over the single rad because i wanted dual fan (maybe two push two pull if im crazy enough :p )

im not too worried about a bit of modding, i can solder and weld if needbe ;)

as for the shroud...i dont think i've ask this here yet...how far does the fan have to be away from the rad? i think i read somewhere an inch? i was going to make one out of sheetmetal to save some money...i just need to know the distance....

one last noOb question!! (for now anyways) component placement order!

does it go: block -> exchanger -> pump -> back to block ??

also, if i wanted to and i probably will...add a reservoir, where does it fit in the loop?

Chinkgai, you'll hear lots of recommendations about loop configuration, but none will definitive. I've got mine going Pump > Rad > CPU > GPU > Reservoir > Pump, with the theory that that way the CPU block is on the coolest part of the loop. But that's just my setup, and in most systems, it really won't make more than a degree or two of difference either way. Really, the loop arrangement may have as much to do with the layout of your case as anything else. What case are you dropping all of this in?

You want a good amount of separation with the shroud, but I can't say exactly what. Look at Weapon's shroud design over at xtremesystems; he's got it down to a science.

HW -- You're attacking the wrong guy. Look farther up in the thread. It was Miklebud who said cores were better, not Merc.

Mine goes pump > cpu > rad > reservoir > pump for now.
with my 6800 water cooled it goes=== pump > cpu > gpu > rad > res > pump. I took my 6800 back to air cooling cause I did not see a great deal of diff with it water cooled. But my temps for the cpu went down 10c with water cooling and my case dba is way down from before. My air temps for my cpu were 47 to 55c now I dont go over 41 loaded and I idle somewhere around 38c.

Another tentative English speaker/reader I see. Again, why is it your business what I do or say? This drivel qualifies more as an "attack" than anything I've said unbidden:

Now who's lecturing? Anyway, fine. Have your yelling match. This is perhaps the fourth time I've seen you browbeat someone in a hardware forum, and I've only been here four months, so why would you stop now?

Paternalistic twaddle this is. You're a lying coward and infected with the idea that your opinion is somehow important to me. Please, don't say anything else to me and I'll gladly return the favor, okay? Again, if you want your ass kissed you?re going to have to look elsewhere.

HardWarrior's Greatest Hits:
-------------------------------

Miklebud: Liar who needs "a lame excuse to justify" being cheap.

Mercdoc: "Tight-assed, know-nothing" who "whine about what other people use." Also "retarded." Most likely incapable of comprehending the English language. "Everything" he says is "asinine and misleading." Employs "stupid and juvenile" tactics. "Idiotic and lecturing," yet still "whiny."

"Suck, and that's sad."

HeaterCore: "Ass," or perhaps "Punkass." "Tentative English speaker/reader." "Paternalistic...lying coward...infected with the idea that [his] opinion is somehow important." Needs to "mind [his] place." Has a strange ass fetish, involving lip contact.

Also an "ignorant know-nothing." (But not redundant!)

------------------------------

All in just one thread! Mighty impressive.

Aren't you glad that there are places like this, where you can act like the complete ass you are without having to worry about swallowing a few teeth? All this, and no one even asked you for your opinion, or otherwise said ANYTHING to you.

Will both of you STFU? It doesn't make a damned difference, and neither of you is going to prove anything.

Charming huh? A perfect example of why you should be banned before you get any worse. I'd be willing to bet that you're a mouse in real life, not even worth a notice. But you sure play the puffed up manly man here. The long definition of slimy coward, obviously.

HeaterCore: "Ass," or perhaps "Punkass." "Tentative English speaker/reader." "Paternalistic...lying coward...infected with the idea that [his] opinion is somehow important." Needs to "mind [his] place." Has a strange ass fetish, involving lip contact.

How long did it take you to whip this up, coward? The only real fetish here is rolling around in the rotten egg you call a head. You've been into water-cooling for all of about 5-minutes and you can't keep your mouth shut. You aren't even well-heeled enough to come up with an independent thought of your own. Your ENTIRE knowledge-base is composed of something someone, somewhere, told you that "sounded" good. Another great example of that yellow streak that runs up your back. You can't even think for yourself. Yeah, you want your ass kissed, because you?re so immensely self-absorbed that you ?feel? you deserve it. Why else would you behave the way you do, short of mental illness?

Mercdoc: "Tight-assed, know-nothing" who "whine about what other people use." Also "retarded." Most likely incapable of comprehending the English language. "Everything" he says is "asinine and misleading." Employs "stupid and juvenile" tactics. "Idiotic and lecturing," yet still "whiny."

Ouch. Now we have the shining pillar of virtue, defending the downtrodden, in the most juvenile, thoughtless way possible, of course. BS. You could have kept your mouth shut and this would've been over. I even asked you nicely to leave me out of your control fantasies. What did I get for my trouble? More inane, disjointed crap. Now here your are, trying to play the aggrieved party, when all I asked of you was to leave me be.

Bring it on, chimp.

My GT idles at 43c, load is 44 to 45c. My A64 idles at 40c and load is about 45c. I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing what happens this summer without AC because I'm using Thermoflow fans on my rads. ;)

My loop goes pump>CPU>GPU\GDDR3>rad>rad>res>PUMP. I'm pumping distilled, Innovatec Pro and a spritz of FCPU blue UV. What about your rig?

R u using a Danger Den gpu/ram block??? I have a swiftech block for my gpu but it came with some nice copper sinks for the ram. Those are some nice temps too. Take it your rads are 12cm ones? I seem to do well with just the one for now. And I can not wait for summer to crank up the air, my case is right next to the window unit. SO maybe Just Maybe, I will be getting some lower temps and so higher clocks ;) Just noticed that you have a BFG 6800 GT OC, I have the BFG 6800 OC (NU). Great cards if I say so myself. And got to love the warrenty they give, LIFETIME. :)

Yup, the infamous NV68, two pounds of coppery goodness. ;) Yeah, my temps are OKAY, but I'd like better. I was thinking about a rad box with dual HE120-2's driven by a big Iwaki for my next refit, just to see what it's like. I wish I could fit two 12cm rads. I'm using a BIX and a BIM 2 in series. Oh yeah, expect much better temps with an AC right by your box. I'd like to try something like that, but we have central air. Yes, based on my experiences with this card I could easily recommend it to any gamer. I've had mine for maybe 4-months and I'm still amazed at how it handles games like FarCry and D3, and the warranty doesn't suck either. ;)
