Back on topic, Ryan needs Trump a whole lot more than Trump needs Ryan. That will be Trumps initial bargaining position, and the pivot on which everything will swing.

Trump needs all the votes he can get from the block of conservatives that Ryan represents, many of whom he's currently alienating. What does Ryan need exactly?

It's hard to see how. Republicans only lose the house in some MONSTER rout. Demographics and gerrymandering have made the House so safe for Republicans it is almost impossible for them to lose it.

What do you think Ryan needs Trump for? If anything it seems that Trump crashing and burning would make Ryan type conservatism more appealing in 2020.

Of course. I mean, they'll just say they lost because they didn't run a "True Conservative", whatever that means. Look for Cruz to mount a comeback try in 2020.
