Will iPhone 6 cases work with the 6s?

I know there's a 0.2mm difference in thickness, but are all the buttons in the same place?

Yes. Buttons in the same place, as are the ports.

However, some tight-fitting 6 cases may not be ideal on the 6s. I do know that some case manufacturers are creating new designs for the 6s that are compatible with the 6, but that's because the 6 is thinner. Of note is the fact that they aren't necessarily saying their 6 cases are fully compatible with the 6s.

Is it the stronger aluminium?

Shell has been modified and is indeed thicker in a few areas, and they've moved to 7000 series aluminum as well. However, I don't know if the entire shell is thicker, or just the re-inforced areas. In addition, the 3D Touch screen is also thicker, so the added thickness may be more due to the screen than the reinforced portions of the shell.

I have an Incipio Feather for the 6 ready to use for my 6S on Friday so I will report back. It's an ultra-slim case as well but the dimensions do fit the 6S so we'll see.

I hope it fits. I have a 6+ and a Pad&Quill case that I love and want to keep using it. I think I'll be good.

I just bought a new Spigen case for my 6S+. The only bad thing is that it has been sitting on my desk for a week now. :(

Yes much stronger.

The Unbox therapy host did a test on the backplates of last years and this years iPhone

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChUsy8gWwvo&t=7m59s

The result is that it takes just over twice as much force to bend the new backplate as it did to bend the old one... interesting change...

....

Pretty impressive. It would be interesting to know how this compares to other similar devices in the marketplace. It seems that this change has pretty much completely mooted this as an issue for the 6s.

My Incipio NGP feels different with my 6s Plus compared to using it with my 6 Plus. It actually feels much better now with the 6s.

I fit a $3 eBay bumper made of black TPU and clear plastic, a Spigen Neo Hybrid EX Metal and Neo Hybrid EX (plastic, later revision) bumper on a 6S Plus. All were made for the 6 Plus and all worked great with a 6S Plus. The "Dia-cut aluminum" Neo Hybrid EX Metal was surprising because it fits the 6 Plus so tightly.

My incipio DualPro Shine works on both 6 and 6s. Honestly it is one of the best phone cases I've ever used. I'd highly recommend it.

I've always hated that whole line...and I've had to use those cases temporarily on my iPhone 3G, 4, and 5. I've also used them on a Galaxy Note 2 and a Galaxy Note 3. Now, I'm really drawn to TPU-material cases that offer just the right amount of impact protection while staying slim and pocketable.

Incipio's "NGP" material is really a kind of TPU. The Incipio NGP cases are great. I've used the black "Incipio NGP" for iPad mini, iPad mini 2, iPhone 6 Plus, and iPhone 5c.

For the iPad mini, mini 2, and iPhone 6, I used a razor blade to cut a small slit beside the volume and lock buttons and tactile feedback is greatly enhanced. That wasn't necessary for my mother's 5c.

Incipio Frequency is also made of "NGP" (TPU) material. I tried the Incipio Frequency with iPhone 5, but I didn't like the way the lock button felt in the store (of course, I didn't try the enhancement). The Incipio Frequency for iPad touch 5th gen was absolutely perfect and required no modification. Amazing tactile feedback.

The Belkin Grip Candy Sheer for iPhone 5 / 5s was another great TPU material case that looked great and protected my phones very, very well.

I'm still using an Incipio NGP on my iPhone 6s Plus and it feels absolutely excellent. I feel like I'll never need any more impact protection than what I have, and it's super slim.

I used one on a Galaxy Note II and thought it added too much bulk. It's about like an Otterbox Commuter. I couldn't use a Qi charger through either, so it's the thickness and not the material (the "Shine" is not real metal). I like dual-layer protection around the edge but the back almost never needs that much protection. It usually fine with TPU back there in a full case or a skin in a bumper case.

I think they may have revised the dualpro for the 6s. It adds very little thickness to the phone and only a bit of width. It makes the phone feel a lot better in my hands, but I do have big hands. :p

It does block Qi chargers though.

What holes were wrong? AFAIK, all mics and sensors and ports and buttons are in the exact same places.

I've seen iPhone 5C cases with Apple logo windows that don't line up with the Apple logo. Is that the kind of "hole" you're talking about?
