Will GOOGLE cower and serve political correctness for Christmas?

Alright we all know that Jesus is the reason for the season but for atheists we have given you Santa Claus. I've been watching Google's holiday pics on the front page change daily and so far I have yet to see a hint of any overt reference to Christmas or Santa. If you look closely at todays picture you might note the shape of something that hints of a candycain, the bright Red & White colors of the season and a happy boy looking at items that might or might not be "gifts". I don't think anything about these pictures are an accident. I'll bet Google had an entire think-tank working on these photos so that they might feel Christmassy to the West yet otherwise be such a non-statement to people of "other" religions that they probably wouldn't even take note of them much less understand that they relate to Christmas.

So what do you think...is Google going to chicken out and omit Jesus & Santa on it's homepage Christmas day?

December 25th is Christmas no matter what faith you hold. Its a national holiday, and there will be a christmas picture up.

I feel like more people who want "marry christmas" have their panties in a wad over the people who want "happy holidays"

I don't even hear the latter group complaining. I don't even know who's bright idea it was to change it.

Regardless, I don't give a fuck. Call it whatever you want.

Just GET OVER IT.

I know that as an atheist, I have been fully active in the war on christmas. Hell, I staged protest at the local mall santa station with signs "Jesus is the reason for the SUFFERING!" and made lots of children cry.

December 25th has nothing to do with Jesus, he wasn't born then or ever. It's a Roman pagan holiday chosen to be Christmas that a Pope used to make conversion easier for Romans.

I doubt they will have a picture of Jesus wet from birth.

They'll probably just have a Christmas tree for the 'l' in google or something.

And it is not about chickening out, as your poorly worded post and poll suggest. Why would they post Jesus on their page?

You're my hero!!! 😀

Yes, Google will bow to the will of the rich and powerful Atheist lobby.

Also, you put "other religions" in quotes like you don't quite believe they exist. "Are non-Christian religions merely an Atheist conspiracy to lure people away from the one, true God? We'll tell you at elven."

I love p&n threads in ot they are always fun for a few good flames on the op that is foolish enough to post them here.

Santa Claus is a cheap Sinterklaas rip-off, and Christmas was a Pagan celebration of the returning light. So the first should not be there at all, and the second should only be shown in the form of a tree with lights in it, not with mythological beings.

It's Google's page and they can do whatever the fsck they want.

How is it cowardly to display what YOU want on YOUR page?

Giving in to the demands of the Christian extremists would be cowardly. Google should put a big sign on the site 'God probably doesn't exist', but I think they don't dare doing that 😉

Why should they do that?

Saying god doesn't exist makes you just as faith oriented and extremist as the theists. You can no more prove your claims than they can.

First of all no TRUE atheisist says that there is absolutely no possiblility of god, it's just that the evidence points towards extremely unlikely. Second of all the the poster above you said "probably doesn't exits", with emphasis on the probably.

i'd bet they'll leave out Jesus for sure but I am being laid off so I shouldn't be betting anything. I'd be surprised if they did anything related to religion.

i would expect Santa Claus or something like that.
