Will Ferrell should fire his agent....seriously..

I'm shocked at how many people liked Anchorman more than Blades of Glory.
Anchorman had a few hilarious scenes, but otherwise, it sucked.
Blades of Glory was fvcking hilarious.
Stranger than Fiction was great.
Talladega Nights was mildly amusing.

I guess I'm someone who likes moderate doses of Will Ferrell, but I get bored watching just him for 2 hours. Old School and Blades of Glory were so good because they had other great comedians to balance and contrast Ferrell's characters.

He's pretty good. The only thing I don't like as much is that his movies tend to be deadpan slapstick comedy, and the jokes come one right after another. Someone like Adam Sandler, a lot of the scenes in the movie are subtle and then you get smacked with a comedic take. It's not as over-the-top as Will, but either way, they all make me laugh.

He can do these movies in his sleep and they make bank. I'm not seeing the problem.

the prob is all of those movies are really really bad, like Glitter bad

Now that's below the belt and just not true.

ok Stranger then Fiction was decent, the rest were glitter like IMO

i just dont think he is funny, wasent that funny on SNL and sure as hell isnt funny as a leading actor, does fine as a supporting char like in Old School IMO.

99% of the movies he has had a lead in have been pure crap

Well then obviously you aren't a fan of his genre, so why would you watch those movies anyway? I can't stand "artsy" movies, so you won't see me rushing to the theaters to see the latest from Tarrentino. simple logic...

He's got some pretty shitty movies.

Old School was one of the better movies he was in and it wasn't even because of him.

Aaaah! Someone who has the same taste in movies as I do. I agree with your ratings of all the above movies. Dunno if I've run into that before.

Blades of Glory was really freaking funny. It helps that my wife has duped me into watching lots of figure skating over the years.

Yes, he should fire his agent who finds him $20 million movie contracts.

Oh, so sorry LIFER, I guess perhaps some prefer movies that are actually good and worth the ticket price... never mind how much bank he is making off of the rednecks and their doorknob mentality..

Instead of redneck movies, we are sure you would prefer should gay action. Sure you would pay extra to watch that

Being a comedic actor is a cheap way to make it into the business. Never liked any of them.

Ferrell is hilarious. He plays his part well. But everyone has a different sense of humor. I mean some people think Robin Williams is funny. He is not. He is a much better actor than comedian.

those movies aren't bad.

he probably enjoys making them anyways.

and he's not getting typecast - he's already shown how good he can be via Stranger than Fiction

Talladega Nights and Blades of Glory were bad, very bad, although Blades wasn't as bad as Talladega Nights.

type casting? Are you retarded OP? He writes half of those movies. He makes them for himself. Or for that matter has them written FOR him.

On the same topic we continuously have these posts on Will Farrell and its the same thing EVERY TIME. Either you like his brand of comedy or you don't. Simple as that.

Will Ferrel still makes watchable comedies and if you're telling me that you'd forgo his earnings on these movies to cater to a different crowd, maybe the doorknob mentality extends a bit further than the redneck population.

His cameo in Wedding Crashers was awesome. Old School and Elf were pretty good. I haven't seen any of his recent stuff.

Taladega Nights was amusing, but far too many of the jokes in that movie would typically only be perceived by racing fans. I loved it 😀

I hate NASCAR, and I loved it!
His movies aren't meant to be deep, just funny. Sorry to tell you, but people enjoy them. I'm sorry you don't OP!

Tarantino is not artsy.

OP liked "Anchorman" so I'd say he enjoys the genre.
