You are right about one thing. Everyone has a different sense of humor.
Robin Williams has been in some bad movies, but there are times (especially his stand-up) when I think he's one of the funniest people on earth.

Tarantino is not artsy.

OP liked "Anchorman" so I'd say he enjoys the genre.

1) Watch Kill Bill
2) Observe the silhoutte fight
3) Watch the fight scene in the snow
4) Note the various things that occur during this scene
5) Report back and and apologize.

No, he isn't artsy to the effect of the many independant films that no one watches, but for the mainstream? Don't kid yourself.

edit: also note that I was clearly not responding to the OP (I did that earlier), but the poster directly above me.

Man, you are batting 1.000 here, aren't you?

So stylish is artsy in your mind now? Sounds like you've got a firm grasp on the cinematic arts to me... I mean clearly everyone immediately thinks of Tarantino when they see the word "Artsy". Just about everyone I have ever talked to about kill bill has said that it was a nice, artsy picture.

When did I say you weren't? Note that I referred back to the OP by using the term "OP". Perhaps you missed it since it was at the beginning of the sentence. The OP had similar complaints despite being a fan of the genre. The genre has nothing to do with it... some people like the genre and don't like will farrell. Are you sure you are using "genre" correctly here?

Those are homages to a filming style of the past. In fact, that entire series was an homage to martial arts films of the past.

Graspin at straws, chap. You'd best call it a day.

The poster above mine clearly hates everything about Will Ferrell. So I made the comment about the genre. Now, you in turn reference the OP. Were you bringing that up just for kicks, or in response to my post, which you quoted? My post clearly had nothing to do with the OP, so either you were making an irrelevant comment, or your misinterpreted me.

As for Tarantino being artsy...like I said, for the mainstream movie you go see at your average movie theater, yes, he is considered artsy. Are you just arguing with me for the sake of arguing? If I say "Terrell Owens has bad hands", for an NFL receiver, yes, he does, but not compared to the rest of the world. I'm not comparing Tarantino to some eastern european film student, I'm comparing his movies to other movies that the average person would go see. Pretty simple logic.

You are using the wrong terms here. "Will Farrell movies" is not a genre. You can dislike him and all his movies and still like the genre. Some people like some of his movies and others don't. It has nothing to do with the genre. I don't care if your post had nothing to do with the OP, mine did. That's why I used the term OP.

As for Tarantino being artsy, he is not. Just because the average moviegoer is an idiot and calls him artsy doesn't mean he is artsy. It doesn't matter to whom you compare him, he is not artsy by any reasonable use of the word (i.e. one used by someone who has actually seen an artsy film in their life).

So you're answer to 'are you arguing for the sake of arguing' is yes. Fantastic, I won't waste my time responding then.

No, I am merely pointing out the blatantly erroneous posts you are making. Will Farrell is not a "genre" and Tarantino is not "artsy" and therefore people should feel free to ignore everything you say about movies since you fail to grasp even basic terminology.
