I currently have a GOrb. My PIII-700 runs at 43C idle, close to 50C full load. I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and it's pretty hot here now (88F). I can't overclock my CPU beyond 850MHz, and it's a Cb0. Mobo is ABIT BX133.
I had a GOrb on my Celeron 566@850 and I saw a noticeable decrease in CPU temp (2-3C) while under full load when I switched to a PEP66. For example, while running RC5 and Prime95 simultaneouly my CPU temp would reach around 38-39C; however, now with the Alpha the same conditions never result in a temp. over 35C.
Not meaning to be rude or a smarta$$, but what do you not agree with? I thought I was just adding to your earlier post - getting the Alpha will probably not help him clock the chip any higher.
He has probably reached the O/C limit of the chip.
