Highly unlikely. The box ours came in barely fit through the doors in my house, let alone in the back of a normal sized car.

Is your door smaller than standard size?

Unless your carrying the TV in flat. if you held it up right it'll fit through standard size door with ease.

Most plasma tv depth is only 3-5 inches. Its highly unlikely the box's depth will be any bigger than 20 inches. Standard door opening width is about 29inches.

Have you ever tried to put even a 42" plasma in a large sedan?

It ain't gonna happen. It sure as hell won't happen with a 50".

Read what I quoted. Tankguys noted that he could barely fit the box through the doors of his house

which I found rather strange given standard sizes of doors for homes.

My old Samsung 42" fit inside our Suburu WRX sitting on the back seat, out of the box. My Panasonic 50", no way. The box it came in was as big as a twin bed.

We have them for like $20 for 90 mins.

Don't be one of those people. Use the 10% difference to rent a truck. Don't spend that amount of money and then not do it right.

My grandmother was able to get her 50" DLP into her prius with the box and everything.

I would hope a plasma has a slightly smaller box.

shens

call shens all you want.

With the seats folded down on that prius, that box was able to lay on its side just fine and still get the rear door shut. Fact.

exactly what I was going to post.

do you have to drive on a highway to get home from the store?

hmm i guess i could take it out of the box and put it in the car... car is a nissan altima.

Hell yeah, so long you can fold the rear seats down. I fit mine in the back of a CLK coupe with the seats down. (laid it flat, no issues)

Possibly... but I'd be more concerned abou humping it to and from the car. If you really want to fit it, take it out of the box. Just keep right and turn your hazard lights on...

When they see you attaching it to the top of your car 1) improperly to begin with 2) showing that you obviously probably will not be buying much more from them...good luck getting coverage should you have a problem.

You can have it delivered for around $70, you can rent a truck/van for $19.95 (it may make sense to get this from a hardware store or non-moving company to get a definite $20 rental).

Just trying to get a box that big on the top of your car properly without damage to the car or item is just not worth it unless you have a beater and have spent your last dime on the tv.

Down here in florida we always see Joe Redneck trying to beat the system loading up their RoomsToGo/CityFurniture/etc stuff in a back of an open pickup truck and/or with one of those lawn service trailers behind it. Sure enough it starts pouring.

Now that is a mod!

But, I have to ask. Where will you put the generator since I doubt it will work long off of the cigarette lighter and car battery(s)?

I would think that there is no way a 50" would fit in the back of a sedan.

Just rent a U-Haul Van for 19.95 - it will make your life easier.

Reminds me of the people I saw in a parking lot trying to cram a 50" plasma into ford mustang.
Its a $2K tv and your trying to break it ?
Just shook my head while walking by.
