U.S. military officials tell NBC News that investigators have been unable to make any direct connection between a jailed army private suspected with leaking secret documents and Julian Assange, founder of the whistleblowing website WikiLeaks.

The officials say that while investigators have determined that Manning had allegedly unlawfully downloaded tens of thousands of documents onto his own computer and passed them to an unauthorized person, there is apparently no evidence he passed the files directly to Assange, or had any direct contact with the controversial WikiLeaks figure.

a couple of cutouts will erase the trail.

Separate the two if one desires - however, the fact that he mishandled classified documents and knowingly made them available to unauthorized entities are the facts.

A military trial will decide the rest.
He is under the military jurisdiction, not civilian until the case is concluded.

Yes, of course, his lack of right or justification is an entitlement for you determine what he deserves. As you judge you judge yourself. Deserve that!

Excuse me, it's the court instances that has determined he stay in solitary. He did the crime, now he does the time.

If you need anymore proof that conservatives are sociopaths, you just need to read this thread. Manning is a god damned hero.

to whom?

Those that reject the rules & oath taken by the military?

Apparently, a persons word does not mean much to those types of people!

Link to court/tribunal findings?
There has been not military cout martial at this point.

He has been arrested; enough evidence was presented to a military judge to hold him for a court martial and he was ordered to be in a certain location. Isolation may be safer for him then the general population.

Actual evidence may not be revealed to the public at the discression of the military court overseen by the JAG.

How the military operates is differently than the civilian system and what you see on Law & Order.

For more details, contact Don Vito - he was a JAG officer

To the free world. Thanks to Manning, i learned things like how we not only did we kidnap and torture an innocent person (public knowledge), but we pressured Germany and other countries into not prosecuting the intelligence operatives who were responsible for it (now known thanks to the cable leak).

You can take that oath to cover up misdeeds like this shit and shove it up your ass.

He deserves the same thing that all spies do, a blindfold, a last cigarette and a firing squad.

Clearly you and the rest of the dog shit pro-torture contingent's opinions are valuable in determining the moral fortitude of Mr. Manning.

Just as valuable as the lovely human rainbows and hugs brigade that you represent. Keep cheering for the undermining of our country.

Wonderful that you feel great on the news of another's misery. What a sad fuck you are.

Like you didn't feel exhilarated when the liberal news media and hacks wrongly accused Jared Loughner of being a right-wing nut who waas stirred up by Palin, Beck, Limbaugh, etc. Hypocrite.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

Each of us is a human pile of garbage consumed by our self self hate, some dying for our own inner hell to be visited on others, and a few with more understanding.

All the contempt you feel for this man was visited on you by others long ago when you were children to control you and make you tow the line. You have no idea you are emotionally dead, in deep solitary confinement and hell, like this man. He is you and that is why you hate him. Those who do not condemn give their souls a chance.

Coming from the homophobic shitheels like yourself that actively undermine our ability to fight actual terrorism by starting expensive and useless wars, and actively try to destroy the middle class? Go screw yourself.

I think that the US mil trusting this stuff with E3's and even some members of this board who can barely type out a sentence, shows a lot of fault falling back on them in the first place.

So if someone had assassinated a certain former president that you did not like, would you call that person a hero or a criminal? In some people's minds, that person would have been a hero for doing that.

AFAIK he has not been convicted of anything...what's the deal with the case?

Are they waiting for him to die so there are no loose ends?

I'd be more sympathetic if I didn't hear that part of the reason he did it was because he didn't get his promotion.
